Clear win for Martinez and Martinez did not even have time to train! He made a fool out of Williams! Martinez will probably give Pavlik a tough fight because he has had time to train. Pavlik would knock Williams and so would Martinez in a rematch.
Ok, here's my scorecard: Williams-Martinez R1: 9-9 R2: 9-10 R3: 9-10 R4: 10-9 R5: 10-9 R6: 10-9 R7: 10-9 R8: 9-10 R9: 10-9 R10: 9-10 R11: 9-10 R12: 10-9 TOTAL: 114-113
I had it 114-114 in which is a draw but i have no problem if Williams got the nod or Martinez got the nod. It was a close great fight that could go either way.
I had it a draw. Martinez impressed me more overall during the fight but judging round by round it ended up 114-114. 119-110 atsch How do these people get the job judging the fight? What a joke.
Martinez done almost the same to Williams that Quintana had done but using more angles and powershots from both fields whereas Carlos Quintana timed his way in perfectly with his southpaw stance and outslicked Williams.
Martinez close or even a tie. Alot of times when an "elite" fighter faces a guys he's supposed to dismantle, then ends up in a close fight, subconscious minds are influenced by this. You expect one guy to be in complete control, so close rounds you'd give to the underdog and sometimes the favorite has to do more because of this.
I had it Williams . Williams would punch Martinez in the face about 5 times. And Martinez would answer back with a swift hard counter. Williams would punch Martinez in the face about 5 times. And Martinez would answer back with a swift hard counter. Williams would punch Martinez in the face about 5 times. And Martinez would answer back with a swift hard counter. Rinse and repeat
I know the knockdowns 'cancel each other out', but does that mean that each fighter shouldn't lose a point for being knocked down?
