It is all relative so maybe to most affluent areas of the USA those so called ghettos are tough but I can show you some ghettos in Brazil and South Africa which will make US ghettos look like Beverly Hills.

Agreed Froch is over exaggerating a bit and like I said it is relative so for him his childhood was tough because his point of reference is probably a middle class family in Britain.

People on here are trying to compare Froch's upbringing with some of the most notorious areas in the world, what's the point? It's relevant to the individual person.

St Ann's in Nottingham is known throughout the UK as being a rough area, the same as Moss Side in Manchester, Brixton in London etc etc. Any youngster growing up in those areas will have battle on their hands to stay on the right side of the law.
