How many folks out there think Hops' performance against RJJ was nothing to suggest that he's any different than when he fought Pavlik?

I just can't believe people are writing him off on account of that performance. What's the basis?? What did he show or not show that makes people think this?? I don't actualy expect answers on these questions, in fact, please don't answer them.

I agree. Jones just was a totally different style match. Pavlik just plodded right into Hopkins and thats what Hopkins likes . Jones stood off and waited to counter Bhop. There Styles would never gel into a good fight. Prime or not. It was the same Hopkins that fought Pavlik.

:goodgd point, i never expected any fireworks in this fight, Hopkins had more to lose then gain, so although it wasn't impressive he got the job done

Jones/Hopkins 1 wasn't that good so I didn't expect the rematch to be FOTY material either. RJJ's style is just bad news for Hops no matter how shot Jones is. It's possible Bhop still has something in the tank but I rather him retire than find out.

Yeah I might see the rematch after all. Hard for me not to dislike fights because I always try to find a way to learn/study/enjoy them unless they're just two fighters throwing 1 punch per round.

    Dawson? Maybe.

    Pavlik? Probably Not.

Pavlik has that come forward type of style that Hopkins loves. I'd think he'd still pick em apart despite what happened April 3rd. Remember Dawson isn't an aggressive fighter so even him finishing Hopkins is not that likely but still possible.

Nah man. Key is the Ornelas fight. Hopkins looked a lot older in there, and I saw pretty much the same fighter vs. Jones, it was just a very different fight. Gym rats always perform on their actual abilities, and Hopkins being less than spectacular with Ornelas having more success than Pavlik was a good indicator he aged considerably. Time to retire.

And what is that? How was the Hops from there different than the one against Pavlik?
