"Bad" Chad Dawson

ill admit this guy is a beast and has skills most boxers dream of, but come on... he hasn't done a lot of significance in his career yet. He beat 2 has-beens TWICE, which was bad doing it once but the stupid Johnson fanboys cried robbery the first time, which it clearly wasn't. His claim to fame is his win over Adamek... other than that...his second best win will be Pascal.

Hes a very good fighter,But i would like to see him build his resume with impressive wins over Jean Pascal and Tavoris Cloud and unified the title

But hes def 1 of the best fighters world today

 

Dawson's a quality talent and is a big fish in a small pond at 175. I think his fans overrate him on a P4P basis right now, but the same can be said of the fans of pretty much every good fighter. No harm, no foul. I'd still rather see him ranked in the top 10 than some of the other retreads who keep getting a free pass to stay ranked.

That said, he needs to fight more frequently instead of sitting in his prime fighting twice a year (if we're lucky). It's damn hard to build a fan base in the US if you don't fight often to build up your visibility, and with no fanbase, it's tougher to land the biggest fights. Like it or not, that's just how it is. HBO's substantial investment in him guarantees him a P4P spot so long as he keeps winning, so that's a good start. Going forward, the best thing for Chad's future is to put on an exciting fight vs Pascal. That fight's going to generate alot of interest, and his rep as being a fan-unfriendly fighter could definitely use the boost.

I hope he succeeds at putting on a good show vs Pascal. There's big fights out there that can be built up for him (Bute, Super six winner, etc.) while he knocks off some contenders in the meantime, but not if the fans won't watch.

 

Dawson is one of my favorite fighters, he's a quality talent but he really needs to stay active rather than just waiting for the big fights at this point in his career(especially since there's not much out there for him at 175).

 

TO do this he should finally fight other real contenders
... not chasing Tarver or Johnson for the forth time.

Dawson is a no-good fraud with no skills or chin and Pascal will surely beat his ass. As would Calzaghe, who Dawson blatantly ducked. Btw, Calzaghe is the GOAT and British fighters are always better than Americans.
