Hosea Burton not getting funding or being allowed to box for england is ridiculous and has gone on far too long. Then the ABA wonder why they don't win many medals with the resources they have.

 

Feel for Hosea. I seen many good boxers get overlooked for England. So many good boxers miss out on all them great events because of petty feuds and who knows who.

 

This is how stupid it is. Liam Cameron has turned pro. He missed out on the worlds to Cardle. A man he beat 10-0 in the semi finals of the ABA's

 

It has been going on for far too many years with the ABA. A simple case of if the face fits.

 

Yeah man I gotta agree with you. Cardle is not even number one in the country at least 3rd or 4th and got hand given the place. The fact he got the furthest in the worlds just says how poor the standard is. Need to pick the best kids but with many not fighting in the abas either makes it impossible to really have a numero uno.

 

Agreed. Done a ABAE boxing leaders course the other week and it was a total utter mess. They had no clue what they were supposed to be doing and it's like that across the board with them. To many old men stuck in there ways ruining chances for good young boxers.

 

Is that the coaches course? Where you can now coach or be in the corner?

 

Well this was the thing that annoyed me and many other people. They said on the day this is only a build up the level one. Then done basically most of the stuff you would do on the level one. I could tell course didn't have a syllabus it was off the cuff. They had hardly any equipment. Learned a few fun things and i didn't pay for course but Level One is to become a coach at club and in corner i think. So that's a next step if i want to get into training of boxers.

 

I hope Buncey gets McCracken on his radio show to discuss this matter.

 

I second that because this seems so unfair on the lad. Seems a decent kid as well.

Agreed, the ABA is a complete shower.

I did the Level 1 course at the turn of the year and have not received my certificates, badges and book yet. I shouldn't be working the corner without any of this but no one's challenged me yet. The amount of corruption and plain cheating that goes on is staggering. It disheartens the boys, the coaches, the families that support their kids and just damages our sport. Having seen some things I'm not surprised we struggle to produce world champs. We'd stand a much better chance if the sport was properly organised and cleaned up. Maybe the cream would rise to the top...
