Is Shane Mosely the best Welterweight in the last 20 years? Resume-wise NOT H2H-wise

Is Shane Mosley the best Welterweight in the last 20 years (since 1990)? We're talking about resume here, and not h2h (hand-to-hand) combat with every fighter. We all know that Mosley lost to Forrest and Wright twice decisively. But does Mosley have the better resume among them and everyone else at Welterweight in the last 20 years? Please vote on the poll. Id say no..Depends on what you want to rank on. Tito was more dominant, Oscar has better names IMO, especially if you count the Tito fight for him but then you could also turn around and argue the Quartey and Pea fights against him.

Shane has some very good top shelf wins but falls down a bit with his consistency..he was clearly bested by Vernon and did lose to Cotto whom even as my favorite I dont rank among the best welters of the past 20 years.
Marga was an excellent past prime win but a lot argue that Tony was past his best aswell and overrated to start with.

Not sure there has been a single guy that has an airtight argument for no1 of the past 20 years....Shane has one of the better ones though.

 

Getting beat twice in a row by two different guys warrants being the "best" of absolutely NOTHING.

 

I have DLH ahead of him but think he catches up by his comeback career, if he beats Mayweather then yes.

 

Don't know about that either. A case could be made for Mayweather and DLH as well. All three would make a good debate as to which was the best lightweight. All three were lethal as hell and unbeatable in that division.

 

hard pick. his longevity has surpassed everyone else, but oscar de la hoya and felix trinidad have very good resumes, but mosley has more credible wins. maybe so. whiticaker wasn't primarily a welter weight was he? i voted tied with others, but now i think i should've voted yes.

u have to take into count his "PED" incident....and im in no way shape or form hating but if you are going to rank someone you have to look at the whole picture....thats like saying the Mark Magwire is the best homerun hitter ever but not saying he used "PEDS".

there are other fighters who have done better or done the same but have done so without any use of drugs.

hard to say a guy with 4 fights at lw with one the first castillo fight his least impressive performance an wins over ndou,victoriano sosa better than the most dominate lw since duran and chavez who won the title from holliday defended aginst molina,leija first to ko brown in shane mosley both great but mayeather better jrlw an mosley better lw by far

 

You're right. My fault, confused Mayweather's superfeatherweight days with lightweight.
How do you compare DLH's lightweight career with Mosley's though? He wasn't there as long but he created a bang with wins against Leija and Molina as well, as well as Genaro Hernandez who was undefeated as was Miguel Angel Gonzalez.

 

You realize you just named a bunch of nobodies dont you except for molina and lieja hardly top class? Castillo was a greater fighter then every name on that list.
