    Hide in Prizefighter tourney

PRIZEFIGHTER returns April 30 at the York Hall in Bethnal Green, east London, with former WBO heavyweight champion/current WBC #3 cruiserweight Herbie Hide (48-4, 43 KOs) among the participants in the second cruiserweights competition. At 38, Hide is the oldest of the eight men taking part, but he will be a prohibitive betting favorite. Other fighters include former Commonwealth champion Darren Corbett (28-5-1, 16 KOs), Mark Krence (24-7, 6 KOs), John Anthony (7-11, 5 KOs), Jon-Lewis Dickinson (5-0, 0 KOs), Wayne Brooks (5-2-2, 2 KOs), Zahid Kahut (4-1, 0 KOs) and Leon Williams (4-1, 2 KOs). £32,000 will go to the winner of the one-night tournament. Audley Harrison won Prizefighter Heavyweights III in October and claimed the European championship last Friday.

Its becoming bit of a low risk stunt for fighters that have lost their stock, to get them back in the public eye. Gavin Rees, Harrison now Hide. The competition is generally weak but people watch because the format is pretty interesting. I was surprised to see that Enzo Mac wasnt in, the tournament seems to be made for him

Well it was originally supposed to be a Williams-Harrison final, but Williams is just toast.

 I meant that in the last HW edition Williams and Audrey were supposed to walk it and meet in the final, but Williams was proved to be completely shot and lost to a clubfighter, so the same could theoretically happen to Hide. Especially as the others, whilst not very accomplished, are not much worse than the journeyman Hide has been facing the last few years. He's also been off for what will be 10 months.
