You are mistaken, they showed him going to hand therapy which included him putting his hands in some kind of liquid and then being wrapped but no injections.

If Mayweather's hands are anywhere to where they are hurting leading to the week of the fight, believe me, he will get injected with Xylocaine in his hands to numb the pain. .......and it will be legal because its allowed in Vegas.
