honestly i didnt know much bout this geezer but his fight with williams was entertaining who is he facing in the first min of the 2nd vid the matey he knocks down.
Martinez is like JMM. He stayed hidden too long. He is getting up there in age and fights in a reflex style so he should be hitting a slump in his career soon. I really hope he gets the Pavlik win since that would be a huge statement in his career. However the odds are definately against him.
Around round 8 he hit a wall against Williams which ultimately lost him the fight. He got his second wind long enough to take the championship rounds, with his style stamina is an issue. But im still predicting Martinez to upset Pavlik and become the middleweight champion of the world.
Alex Bunema i believe. I think thats the fight that gave him some spotlight. He was the underdog if im not mistaken.
nice vid except i was watching the same clips being played over from a different angles, man oh man P.W. has a gd chin!! Sergio was landing bombs!!!
I dont know. Pavlik puts alot more mustard behind those punches and has decent defense when compared to PW. I just dont know how Martinez is going to react to all that pressure. You know Pavlik is going to walk him down with those big right hands. But i also think Martinez has enough power to put Pavlik away. PW has a very good chin and Martinez stunned him a few times. If Pavlik gets stunned Martinez better finish him.
Thing is, P Will can throw punches in bunches without his feat being set. Can Pavlik get off punches in bunches on a mover?
No, he can't. Pavlik has great power but he could hit like Shavers and still not hurt a guy who he can't hit clean. He needs to plant his feet to get his power shots off, unlike Williams, who can throw from all positions and angles.
I can remember watching Martinez fight R Williams and Adrian Stone in britain the guy has been a real good fighter for years and will beat Pavlik.
