interesting stuff its a pity the big stars arent on terestrial tv and basically without that format its so much harder to become a household name. those numbers will probably never be seen again which i guess is bad for the sport
Audley Harrison vs Michael Sprott II - 17 Billion Yes, intergalactic aliens tuned in. A-Force is just that big of a draw
Wow. Almost 30 million for Ali-Frazier, that's half the population! Fighters these days are lucky to get close to just a million. How much viewers does a football match between say Man Utd and Chelsea gets these days?
That low :-( Thought he would be somewhere about there just shows how far boxing has slipped to the ratings.
McGuigan-Pedroza was on BBC1 at 9pm on a Saturday night for free when there was only a choice of 4 channels to watch. Hatton-Mayweather cost £15 to watch at 4am on Sunday morning and there are 50+ other channels to choose from.
Fair point, Thought he would of had a good lot of viewers from the amount of people i talk to that go on about him non stop when it comes to boxing
Even Barry-Caba and Barry-Laporte (esp. Laporte) had more people talking about them than Hatton-PBF and Hatton-Pac. Just different times I guess.
I'd have guessed Bruno-Tyson I being top by far (without thinking) and Eubank-Benn I atleast being in the top ten. But I remember Bruno-Tyson I was on at a silly time with it being in Vegas and all, and Eubank-Benn I was on a Sunday at around 6-7pm.
Surprised Eubank is up there so much, when i talk to older fans they all seem to be telling me about Benn on tv but maybe they were all benn fans :huh
