Who is the Best British fighter right now?

Amir Khan. Blazing speed, decent power, chin problems, but thats probably more due to training then anything else.

If he cleans out the Junior Welterweight division, that'll be a sight.


Haye is probably as talented, but I dnt see him beating the Klitsckos.

Froch? Well he'll probably be beaten ******ed before the years over.

 

Amir Khan is probably the best boxer but he's not a fighter, he doesn't have the grit or mental toughness of Haye or Froch. So the best "fighter" of the three I'd say is Carl Froch.

I dont think getting knocked out has any bearing on mental toughness. Infact against Prescott he went down swinging.

Being in with the best fighter in the world has probably added heaps of confidence to him. If you can by roach's own words compete with Manny Pacquaio. What is there to be afraid of at junior welter?

STFU Khan was never anything that resembled a champion at 135.

 

Shady defense. Roach has his guard up much higher now. Stronger base, Roach made the point that he was too heavy upstairs which through off his constitution. And probably a few neck exercises as well. Similar to what Floyd does.

i dont think there is any scientific evidence of having a glass chin.

 

Amir was hardly concious after that first knockdown in the Prescott fight. And competing with Manny in the gym with a bit of light sparring with pads on isn't really a comparison to facing the real thing in a real fight.

Amir is just too fragile to be a dominant world champ.

 

Kell Brook.

He really impresses me with his attacking style mixed with great head movement.

Granted, he hasn't fought anyone really of note, but sometimes you see a fighter and think "he has the raw talent".

I think he'll do great things.

 

Amir Khan is the best boxer we have got.

And he's got the weakest chin you'll ever find on a "world class" fighter.

That says a lot about the state of British boxing.

 

While i think all of these are very talented boxers, i believe that Kevin Mitchell will be Britain's best boxer within the next 18 months. He has good power, a great chin, and can also box to instructions as shown in the Prescott fight. Seems to be an all round fighter IMO.

 

Khan is the best technically. Good jab, handspeed, decent power etc.

Haye and Froch are somewhat overly reliant on their power and are not what I'd call great boxers.

In the next few years we have the likes of Mitchell, Cleverly, Brook and Groves coming through looking to take the mantle.
