IMO he will have a game plan to stay clear of his jab. Easier said than done of course. But Haye isn't a walking punch bag and that will be some thing new to Wlad. He has to find a way in without taking to much punishment with the jab, also he will have to watch Wlad's left hook. Haye has what it takes to beat him. But it's by no means a fore gone conclusion either way. That's what fight should be like more often. Rather than fighting bums all the time.
Wlad won't knock Haye down with a jab. An unprepared Haye impressed me with his punch resitance against Ruiz and that is with no sparring 4 weeks up to the fight. Against Wlad he will be sharper and not shipping as much. Secondly I doubt very much that we'll see a full blooded right from Wlad in the fist half of the fight as he will be shitting himself at the prospect of getting banjo'd, by which time Haye will have hopefully landed the knockout blow
Good thread :good One thing Ian Darke mentioned during the Ruiz fight which does ring true about Haye's defence is that the advantages of holding your hands as low as Haye does is that you have a clear view of whats coming in , Haye has a knack of using his reflexes to avoid clean shots right at the last minute as his natural reflexes and athletisism is so superior to the other HW's , and most of them glance off him or miss him all together . Now bring Haye's conditioning into the equation and its an interesting concept , how long can David stay that focused on not getting hit against a much bigger natural HW like Wlad , probably the most well rounded athlete in the division ???? Also , you can sing from the roof tops how good Haye's reflexes and speed are but one thing we do know about Haye is he doesnt deal with a good jab that great either , Wlad has a terrible habit of pawing with the jab as oppose to sticking it out there fast and getting it back in as quick , but i think he'll be sharp in that department on the night , in summary i think once Wlad has seen Haye's tricks early on Haye will tire and Wlad will pick him apart or even stop him late .
In all seriousness, if Wlad lands flush Haye won't even blink. What's more, he will hang his chin out for Klitschko to have a couple of free swipes, demonstrating the durability of his beard a la Mayorga vs Trinidad before administering a brutal KO.
This is the easiest fight of the two out of Wlad and Vitali...:yep The Haye fight strategy will be to put Wlad on the back foot and counter his way to a stoppage or KO at the Hayemakers pace...:yep
Wlad can't handle defensive fighters for ****. Chambers, Brock etc Foot work, head movement and blocking and he is screwed. Haye will employ these defensive skills ALOT. Wlad hasn't got the stamina to unleash so he keeps trying to time the opponent and fails again and again. Look what happened to Chambers and Brock. Eventually he landed big but the idea for Haye will be to land big himself.
So you will put up with any old **** in the ring so long as the fighter is "intelligent" and /or "respectful"...with that attitude you wouldn't have had fighters like Leonard, Ali, Duran and a whole host of greats...thank God that most fight fans (other than Klit Lickers) don't think like you
I can see him fighting a similar fight as against Valuev, but with more action and trying to get bursts of shots off.... because he knows Wlad hs a suspect chin he can catch him, but he also knows that jab is one to avoid getting caught with. Although having said that Haye himself said Wlad's style is suited perfectly to him, so he might go for broke!
