Bute was on my "to watch out for" scope a long time ago, I've lost a fair bit of respect for him and his team. Perhaps calling him an actual joke is going a bit too far, but I certainly think putting him at #1 is ludicrous. He has not beaten anyone of note, really, and even if Ward only just won his title, his win over Kessler is far superior to Butes wins.
At least were are beginning to agree... I said from the start i don't think BUte (or any SMW) did enough to be considered #1. Pretty good fighter though. And yes, i agree that Ward actually holds the biggest victory at SMW.
I don't think he is a joke either.... perhaps reading about people calling him an angel and climbing a mountain to glory and that he is best at everything on his way to p4p... it's like hearing a wack song over and over again.... It's interesting to see the fanbase/defenders he has here....mostly Canadians from Cananda... but they certainly believe in the man. It's interesting that if you disagree with some people thinking Bute is something great or special and that if you think he is going to lose vs. miranda ...then people say " you don't know anything about boxing"...
To be fair, if you think he loses to Miranda i would have to question your boxing knowledge, but thinking he isn't that special is fair enough. There just isn't a clear number 1 at 168 at the moment, and the Super 6 which was designed to give us exactly that won't really be able to whilst Bute is knocking about and looking pretty good defending his title.
Nope. You didn't understand. You think MIranda will/may win? Its arlight. Anything can happen. But you can't base that on a deep analysis of both fighters. Miranda can pack a punch. But unless Goosen turned him into something very different, all Miranda got is a punch. You said you see nothing in Bute. He's a pretty good fighter. Someone who knows boxing should see that. Sorry. Never said he was unbeatable, flawless or the next Ali. True that EVERY nuthuggers are irritating. But a lot of you guys here tend to bash a fighter because of these nuthuggers.
I'm guaging what i think about miranda on his past fights... If i think he can beat Bute...then question away... If bute beats him down and i still think miranda won...then i'll deserve some discredit.
Do you think Miranda beats Bute? I find it hard to make any kind of case for Miranda winning this one to be honest.
I just can't see Bute stopping him. if Bute beats Miranda...I'll give him a nod and certainly be impressed. I'll take Bute more seriously. I think Miranda beat Abraham in thier first fight...
No way i'm impressed if Bute beats Miranda. I hope he does it in spectacular fashion but he's expected to win. I also think the Miranda Abraham fight was very close (because of the fractured jaw) and that it should have been stopped in the 5th (or 6th?). That being said, Abraham showed who the boss was when his jaw is not on the floor.
After MK loosing til WARD - no one is legitimely the SMW number 1. if froch beats MK. Then Froch is SMW number 1. At the moment, it is something like, 1. Froch, Direll, Kessler 2. ButE, Ward, Abraham
AMEN BROTHER! The best fights the best! This fraud is sitting out while the real contenders to the crown fight it out. I hope Miranda makes him pay, and knocks him the **** out!
This is the same guy that was getting stopped by Andrade and saved by the referree! He redeemed himself with a great bodypunch, but as far as I'm concerned he's 1-1 with Andrade and should fairly give him a rubber match. Bute has 2 wins over top contenders and yet to beat any of the Super 6 and now he's #1. I don't think so. I'm not sure this is really his fault, most likely his management just adding more hype to him than he really is. Once he beats Froch, Ward, Abraham, Dirrell, or Kessler he can claim #1. Gotta beat the best to beat the best.
Miranda sucks....theres no way hes winning i think andre ward should be 1...mikkel kessller win should put him @ 1....
