says on the boxing news website he took the Light Middle fight with the african as its winnable, but will vacate and fight at 10st2lbs on May 21st (Ryan Rhodes Euro Defence on FFN) and Hattons have promised him a shot at Daws in the new season.

He looks like he could drop the weight but time will tell I guess. Always a little worried when a guy goes down in weight but I heard he found it hard to train right before so the welter division suited him better.

Watson vs Daws should be a good fight.

Maybe this is a case or Ricky paying off all the decent European welters off to move into different divisions so little bro can have an easy ride.

Considering how soft Warren has treated Cleverly and Brook opposition wise I am still unsure that he will fancy putting Gavin in with Daws no matter how great the kid is.

the more belts that hatton fighters and warren fighters get the worse for good boxing on tv, afterall they have basically both said they cant deal with each other which will mean more hoarding of titles

Clev and Brook must of had 25 amateur fights max, both turned pro at 18.

Gavin and DeGale can be treated differently.

The Oakey fight was a joke no contest. Quigly is a fat light middle and should never go above middle but fair enough nice name on record kinda like how Olu talks about Ajose beating Bradley Pryce and the other kid who's name escapes me at the moment. Great match making by Warren...the Euro fight opponent was a joke too but like we hear all the time a fighter can only beat what is put in front of him and if he gets by those fights fair dues to him but do not talk about his non 'soft' opponents.

Oh by the way dbflex I thought your interview with HHH was superb and was the first time I had read an actual interview on the guy and it was hard to believe you did the questions almost off the cuff.

Clev was a super middle at the time and Quigley went on to win and be competative in British title fights.

The italian was mandatory for the the European.

we keep going on about fighters doing things properly and winning the domestic belts, but then we are critical of the poor opponents. Cleverly has beaten everyone at domestic level, what more do you want from him??

I know. I am just one of those that would have loved to see him fight a top class Oakey and did not give Quigley any credit. I know the Italian was mandatory but he needs a few tougher fights before going further plus the fact that we have alot of very good fighters at that weight in Europe. I was mighty impressed with him against McIntosh and I am on the hype train now.
