Official Pavlik VS. Martinez Poll--April 17th

Prediction:

An exciting fight in which Pavlik has some trouble early on with the movement. Probably drops the first 2 or 3 (maybe even 4 rounds). Pavlik then starts to find a home for his bigger punches. As the rounds go on, Martinez ships more and more as he tries to engage to take some rounds. Pavlik then stops him in the 12th as the harder punches take their toll while being 1 and 2 points up on one card with the other judge having Sergio by one point.

I think its time for Pavlik to show he is the best middle weight out there,
And I will be there to cheer him on , with ever true blooded American
watching the fight.:good

but even if martinez hits pav he is not going ne where he has a proven chin.

 

I was not aware that Martinez can enter the ring at 185 pounds, and if Martinez is a defensive master, that is a very recent developmentatsch

 

He has about 29 hours to add 25.5 lbs. :yep

 

Well -- Jack said he won't be surprised if KP rehydrates to around 175! I think Martinez probably tops out around 166.

 

Martinez by comfortable decision. Kelly has not looked himself in his last 2 fights because it seems as if hes trying to actually box which i think is really confusing him, and you have to be at your best against someone like Martinez who has a style that is poison for a flat footed puncher like Pavlik. If he (Martinez) uses his foot speed and doesn't get lured into a shoot out, he should win pretty handily.

 

Having reservations about my pick. Think Martinez could very well squeak a decision.

 

If Pavlik doesn't get a knockout, then that won't be much of a factor.

 

Show me some video of a fight where Martinez avoided heavy exchanges.
