I feel great about the bet. I feel very strongly that Pavlik will win and I think a careful analysis of the facts will reveal no other likely result.

The bold part shows me how you are different from the average ESB poster. Time and time again I challenged the Martinez crew to post a fact based analytical break down of how and why Martinez should win. Not one single person took up my challenge. It was like talking to a group of people with some bizarre form of Tourette's syndrome: "speed, angles Bernard Hopkins -- speed, angles, Bernard Hopkins, -- speed, . . . . . .":patsch

Thats way to dangerous of a bet. You bet to high. There is a strong possibility Martinez comes away victorious in this one then rematches Williams to beat him again in my book.

I usually bet considerably less, however, that is how strongly I feel about Pavlik's chances and the odds I got. I see it as a huge opportunity and very low risk.

I'll congratulate you if you come up. But Martinez is just far superior than the robotic Pav. Looking forward for this one. :good

well, fortunately negative and faulty perceptions can be used to one's advantage when it comes to betting....it is part of the reason I started doing it, because nobody ever really wins in an internet battle, there is always another angle, another take, another out to argue the other side, but making a bet, posting it, and winning or losing, there is something very final about all of that. I find it much more satisfying either way, rather than the hollow victories of net arguing - although you can get a ton of good and not so good info from those threads.

Surely, after Pavlik wins, we will get
    1)Williams softened up Martinez first
2)Pavlik is taking easy touches and Williams' leftovers
    3)Pavlik isn't fighting legit middleweights

and I'm talking if Pavlik knocks him out.

My official prediction is Pavlik by KO round 9. I'm predicting a big punch ends it and it only goes to a "TKO" if the ref waves off the count. But I was given no KO round props nor a win by KO option where I placed the bet and I would have kept the majority of my money on Pavlik to win, I'm playing it safe but I do feel a KO is very, very likely.

I also think Martinez is a helluva fighter, a good one and I respect him a great deal. But he isn't going to have success vs Kelly Pavlik.

Well -- you're right about betting vs debating. I do not gamble because I already have a ton of vices! However, if I was making a profit, I could spend more money on my Harleys:yep

well there are some that gamble and make a profit and its a business for them, I don't claim that, its just a healthy hobby that doesn't really effect my financial state one way or the other......I enjoy putting my knowledge or lack of it against the odds.

Here on the net with the e thugs its all bull****. And most of them that argue so passionately for one side or the other wouldn't part with five dollars to make a bet on something they are willing to argue twenty five pages for, I mean, if you are so convinced about something than why not make some money?

If you're picking Martinez in this fight you aren't the sort of armchair expert who pays attention to things like questionable defense, questionable stamina, and questionable durability. Martinez can make a fool out of Pavlik for only so long. Or not at all. Then the B-side tangibles will rear their ugly head. Then the intangibles will show their ugly face. It ain't all about offensive prowess and athletic ability in this sport. I'm guessing alot of people will get a lesson in that tonight. I used to use only one eye too. Years ago. Real life is in 3-D.
