:good Always liked Riddick Bowe for his short prime (not the damn golota version) but this one goes down to the wire, whoever is more focused with their arsenal
Well, Vitali is as active if not more, he throws between 60 and 80 punches per round and never looks tired. But Bowe was also open for punches as if he would be a punching bag and he did not have the best chin. Against someone like Vitali who throws many, hard punches this would spell trouble. Big trouble. Vitali was stopped once on cuts. What does make you think this would happen again? SuzieQ and Mendoza have a rivalry like the US and the SU during the cold war, you shouldn´t get into their or you will end up as colleteral damage.
Vitali rarely gets hit, but in the Lewis fight Lewis did hit him several times, it wasn't just one cut but many, I see Bowe hitting Vitali a lot and vice a versa.
Bowe - 10 out of 10 .. every day every time .. no doubt. A better comparative would be between the best most fit version of Cornelius Johannes Sanders and the best version of the Klitschkos. That would be: 7 out of 10 times - Sanders over Wlad 6 out of 10 times - Sanders over Vitali And, if Corrie didn't train on donuts and beer he would have to be favored to win 10 out of 10. Corrie is simply the better puncher and offensive force ...
I am a Bowe fan, and view him as a top 14 head to head heavyweight. I am also from NY and followed his career from his amateur days, seeing him in person, and in the ring. Hear me out. Bowe always had trouble with right hands and defense. He was floored in an early match in the Olympics, and Lewis right hand easily found its mark and hurt Bowe. Herbiie Hide hurt Bowe in their match the few times he landed, but as we know Hide had the chin of a placekicker. Bowe also had trouble with active jabbers. I think he edged the Tubbs match, you felt Tubbs won.:deal I think Vitali offers a bit more than a Tubbs does. Vitail does not need to keep his left hand high. He moves his feet well, fights tall, has good reflexes, and excellent punch anticipation. To add to this, he can land at awkward angles, and counter pretty well for a large heavy. Good out fighters like Donald, and Lewis drew air vs. Vitali. Even at age 38 vitlai made Arreola, and a very quick and long Kevin Johnson miss with their jabs. I think its safe to say Vitali has good defense. All you have to do is check your antipathy at the door.
Wow, Wupp Dee Do. I boxed in the same gym with Riddick Bowe for 2 years. I got to know him quite well in the locker rooms. So hear me out. 1. A prime Lennox Lewis is a far better fighter than vitali could ever hope to be 2. Are you really using Bowe's amatuer fights to critisize him as a pro? Perhaps I can bring up the fact Oleg Maskaev knocked out Vitali Klitschko, pointing to his questionable chin. 1. Vitali lost to the two best fighters he ever fought. I would say vitali has trouble in general with world class fighters. Besides, I doubt Vitali's pawing jab is going to give him much trouble. Vitali paws and pushes it, he does not know how to snap out a jab. 2. I don't think Tubbs won 3. I don't know if Vitali offers more than Tubbs, besides being in better shape. Tubbs appeared to me to have the better all around skills and faster hands than Vitali. He also beat Greg Page and Bonecrusher Smith. Who has Vitali ever beaten? What I do know is a Prime Riddick Bowe offers a great deal more than the washed up lennox lewis that vitali lost too. 1. I believe he does. Had he learned to keep his left hand high, he would not have gotten crushed by that out of slow, old Lennox Lewis right hand that ripped open his eye. Where were vitali's "fast" reflexes then? A Prime Riddick Bowe's punches will be sharper, faster, than a 37 year old Lennox Lewis. 1. Lewis, who was far past his prime and weighed in a career high 257lb, also ripped open vitali's eye and landed many on him. Lewis beat Vitali by TKO. 2. Donald does not compare to Bowe in any way, shape, or form. Donald was a journeyman. Bottom Line: Vitali never came close to beating a fighter on the level of a prime Riddick Bowe. Vitali is vastly unproven to be picking him over a fighter like Riddick. Film reviewing tells me something. It might tell you something different. We all view and judge film differently. What it tells me is Bowe had the much better skills and much better jab. When judging a fight between two tall boxers, I look at who had the better skills and better jab(considering all else is equal). Bowe holds a big edge in this department. Vitali's technique and skills do not come close to matching Bowe's anywhere...from inside fighting to controlling on the outside. I believe Bowe was a great fighter in his prime, Vitali was not. You must really be grasping for straws if you feel beating Kevin Johnson and Chris Arreola proves he can handle Riddick Bowe.
Bowe would have ZERO chance against Vitali. Maybe if he could hit Vitali's shoulder and force a stoppage, otherwise zero.
So, then there´s a question we all wanna know the answer about, a question in which every other boxing question pales in comparison: was Bowe really a big daddy? :rofl:rofl:rofl
I think Vitali would beat the version of Bowe that faced Golota, but that version was not a prime Bowe. Prime Bowe was a big HW with very good skills, and a good chin too. His wars with Holyfield and the Golota I fight softened him up, but he still took lots of flush bombs from Golota in the rematch (when he was washed up) and kept coming. In my book, a pre Evander Holyfield II version of Bowe would win a clear decision against Vitali.
