Can he win? Sure. Easily? No one, Fedor included, is going to beat Mousasi easily.

 

If King Mo had a better stand up, then yes easily. But yes even now he can win. The mans an Ox.

Yes he will. He is the best athlete fighter along with Rashad and Rampage Jackson and Anderson Silva. Brett Rogers would beat Brock Lesnar.
Bones Jones and Phil Davis are the best too.
Takuma Tsuguri was good but he never fought a slick black african american fighter.

 

I don't know about Fedor but, as far as Mousassi goes, I couldn't agree more. I think Mousassi is the most overrated fighter on earth at this moment. Lawal is going to dominate him with wrestling.

 

Brock Lesnar would dominate Brett Rogers. Lesnar wouldn't stand and box with Rogers the way Fedor did. Lesnar would have Rogers on his back beating the **** out of him within seconds of the opening bell. Rogers would be lucky to crack the top 10 in the UFC heavyweight division.

 

Maybe so. But whether Rogers is a bum or not. He still finished Arlovski in less than 30 seconds. & before you say Arlovski was washed up...here are a few facts:

He left the ufc in 2008 , & not because he had a losing record...He had a 3 fight winning streak at the time. As a matter of fact , before fighting against Fedor...He had a +5 winning streak & was trained by Roach.

Interestingly enough , some of the guys he defeated stayed in the UFC but he didn't. Rothwell (still in the ufc)...Nelson (still in the ufc and won the TUF final)...Werdum (also kicked out) , but the Werdum case is also interesting because he defeated Gonzaga (twice)...& Nobody gave a ****.

But when Carwin owned Gonzaga , he became an instant contender for the belt. (but as we all know , there was a delay because Lesnar wasn't available at the time so he had to fight Mir instead).

Which begs the question...What is so unique about this ufc hw division ?

Seems to me that there's a lot of favoritism (thanks to dana white and co). Prime example of this. Couture. The guy comes out of retirement and gets an instant ticket for the belt vs Sylvia.

Is Mir anything special ? The best victory of his entire career is against a washed up Nogueira. Big deal , Emelianenko defeated the guy in his prime , 7 years ago.

Out of the 5 opponents Arlovski defeated...Roy Nelson alone...owned Mir at his own game.

What are Lesnar's amazing achievements ?
Beating a washed up Heath Herring ?...Sure it was total domination , i don't think anyone is denying it but again.. i have to ask: "and" ?

Both Nogueira & Fedor owned him back when he was still gatekeeper material. Fedor litteraly mauled the guy. Lesnar had a quasi dry hump session & won by ud.

Who else ? Couture ? A 45 yr old who was surprisingly holding his own and at times outpowering the bigger and younger Lesnar. That fight is interesting because it's the only one in which he showed clear signs of fatigue. (since for the first time , he had to struggle to win)...Luckily for him , he finished it by TKO and avoided going the distance.

Back to Rogers.
Maybe you're 100% correct on his case. (or not) , but after what he did against a legit opponent , (fluke or not) , it's too easy & convenient to dismiss him this way.

Maybe Arlovski would murder his ass in a rematch. But what happened , happened. & there's nothing extraordinary about ufc's top 10. There's some good opponents in there , but nobody unbeatable. Especially Lesnar. All the match ups , the selected fighters etc...it's all for the ratings , there's no 100% serious rankings especially in the ufc.

Who else is there in this incredible top 10 ? Probably Cain Velasquez. What are his best career achievements ? Beating Kongo & a washed up Nogueira. (Kongo who btw...just like Velasquez & Gonzaga , made a name for himself after beating a past prime legend of the sport..crocop) Kongo , who also lost against a washed up Herring...

When you closely pay attention at who beats who...(and how fighters are eliminated..and especially how they get a ticket for instant contendership) You realise that it's basically the same everywhere else. There's nothing untouchable about ufc's top 10.

Lesnar's best victories are over Mir (who was schooled by Nelson in the grappling department)...Over Couture (much smaller & older) & a washed up herring. And that's ufc's # 1 hw champion...

It only took 3 fights for Lesnar to get a shot at the belt. Dana was dying to make this guy his next champ. Even after losing in his fight (against Mir) , beating a washed up herring gave him an instant pass for Couture & the rest was history.

Then you get guys like werdum...who gets kicked out after losing to Dos santos. and yet Gonzaga (owned by werdum , Carwin , Couture , Dos Santos)....gets to stay...all because of what ? a great ko victory over a (shadow of his former self) crocop ?

Yeah...Rogers is maybe a one hit wonder who wouldn't be able to repeat his victory in a rematch. But this ufc top 10 HW sacralization needs to stop.

Just throwing it out there...but Arlovski was gifted his win over Nelson by one of the worst stand ups in MMA history. Up until then, Nelson was clearly winning that fight.

Queen Mo hasn't proven anything yet, Mousasi ain't Wiuff or Whitehead who will screw up during the fight..

 

I personally think Mousasi is the truth.

I have him as the best Lightheavy with Shogun number 2..Within the next few months i will be proven right.

Nelson was doing great on the ground...But a win is a win.

 

Frank Mir was something special. Early in his career, he was a phenom. That vid against Roy Nelson at Grappler's Quest is irrelavent. Mir would woop Nelson if they fought.
