bivins was quick and busy hearns would choose box behind his jab ,bivins was also used to fighting and beating heavyweights so i see bivins getting to hearns around the 9th and stopping hearns
As previously said, Bivins will undoubtedly be too strong for Hearns. I say he knocks him flat out in the fifth.

50/50 for me, Hearns, though beatable at the pundage was still top class and very capable, beating the likes of Virgil Hill. Hearns was a great boxer with his maturity, he might be stopped, i'll say Bivins comes from behind to land a bomb, something like the Barkley loss at middleweight.
Bivins by mid round TKO/KO. Too strong for the blown-up Hearns. Even though Hearns was still a good fighter at this weight, it won't be enough.
Jimmy Bivins was just another great black fighter who didn't get his chance. Bivins was a smooth crafty boxer, with a fast hard jab, and a tight defence, he also had some decent power when required. He stopped several top fighters including Archie Moore and Lloyd Marshall. His resume of wins is extrmely impressive........Archie Moore, Ezzard Charles, Charley Burley, Joey Maxim, Lloyd Marshell, Billy Soose, ''Oakland'' Billy Smith, Gus Lesnevich. He was rated as top contender at Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight in 1942, but didn't get a shot at either title due to them being froze because of the war. Hearns at 175 was nothing special and was past his best at the weight. His win over the unbeaten long reigning WBA champion Virgil Hill is pretty impressive, but he was beatne by Iran Barkley at the weight also. I see Bivins scoring a KO victory or a UD points decision in this one. Just to big and good of a fighter for Hearns at Light Heavyweight.
Bivins was a different class of fighter at LHW, and would've stopped Hearns somewhere in the mid rounds probably. The Hit Man is out of his depth in this one.
Hearns was good at 175, but Bivens was great at his natural weight. Hearns wouldn't be able to match Jimmy's workrate at 175 and be stopped by the 5-6th round.
The only people who ever stopped Bivins were Ezz, Archie Moore and Lem Franklin. Moore has a case for being the greatest light heavy of all time and Franklin was one of the top heavyweight punchers of his era. Some compared Franklins speed and power to that of Joe Louis. The only way Hearns is stopping Bivins is with a baseball bat.
