    Bravo, Lucica!:happy

Wow... what a punch! I didn't even see it until they showed it in slow-motion.

There is little doubt in my mind that Bute is the best super-middleweight in the world right now.

The Pavlik-Bute double header has backfired, but at least the Canadians hockey match was over before the Bute fight.

What now for Bute? With a healthy Pavlik schooled by light-middleweight Martinez, Hopkins may feel his victory over an ill, out-of-sorts Pavlik has lost a lot of his shine. Ironically, the Bute vs. Hopkins fight is more likely now than it was before...

    Go, Bute!:happy

Was it just me that thought they saw how Hopkins would approach the fight against Bute when watching the first two rounds of Bute vs Miranda? I definitely thought I saw some of the things that Hopkins would use from Miranda, and it had me a bit worried...:think

    Post-fight Press-conference:

    http://www.rds.ca/zv2/#

Click on Ma zone video on the right, then click on page "3" below and select

Le point de presse du champion Lucian Bute 1/2 and then 2/2

    2/2 is in English.

    =============

    - The plan was to be aggressive and push Miranda onto his backfoot, because he isn't dangerous backing up.

    This content is protected
    .

    - Bute's trainer, watching the Pavlik fight during the press-conference: "Pavlik looks to be in trouble"

    - Bute: "I caught Miranda's shots on the gloves, he hits very, very hard. Fortunately, I wasn't hit on the chin."

    - Bute to box in Romania on the 25th of July? - Bute's dream is to fight in Romania; negotiations ongoing with Romanian Boxing Federation

    - Hopkins is a target for the Bute camp

    - Any chance of fighting Pascal or Diaconu? Bute: "They fight at 175 lbs; I fight at 168 lbs. So, there's no question of a fight between me and them"

    - Bute's trainer: "Bute will fight the best fighter available out there. Hopefully, he won't have to fight Bika again, but I think he'll probably have to."

    - Bute: "There are many aspects of my game that need work. I need to use my jab more and my right hook, for example".

    - Bute's trainer: "Bute doesn't have one-punch KO power, but when he prepares a punch well, he can be devastating."

    - Can you reassure your fans that you will continue to fight out of Montreal? Bute: "Thanks to the fans here, and thanks to HBO for coming to show my fights here. I am not obliged to fight elsewhere so I hope HBO will continue to come here to show my fights."

=====please, someone correct my translation. Thanks.=======

MONTREAL - An uppercut allowed Bute to reach ecstasy.

The Romanian-born Quebecers had no difficulty to remain world champion super middleweight IBF serving a real correction in Colombian Edison Miranda, Saturday night in front of 13 682 fans at the Bell Centre.

Bute (26-0, 21 KOs) sent his opponent to the canvas at 1:20 of the third round with a powerful shot with his left hand and even if it is momentarily able to recover the referee Ernie Sharif has wisely decided to stop the killing.

Moreover Miranda took several minutes before returning to his corner and was never able to speak to the media afterwards. He finally left the Bell Centre in the arms of two members of his entourage still visibly affected by what had happened.

As was the case during its victory against Librado Andrade last November 28 at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec, the winning shot of the champion had been prepared long in advance by his trainer Stephan Larouche.

"Everything went according to Stephan and I had anticipated," Bute confessed after winning his fifth straight since he took the title in the hands of Alejandro Berrio in October 2007. "We worked this uppercut during our training camp in Florida. "

"I told him he would live an orgasm Boxer knockout an opponent with an uppercut," said Larouche. "But joking aside, I am very happy because he has been working so hard. "

Ironically, Miranda (33-5) was the great architect of his misfortune, as a few moments before suffering the wrath of Bute, he was taunted by implying that his shots did her no harm.

The Colombian has yet been taken at his own game, because rather than rush on it, stepped back and Bute have expected that Miranda launches an attack to prepare the sequence that led to the fateful blow.

"He pretended to several times during the fight, but when I hit him with uppercuts, I felt it was over," said Bute. "I saw in his eyes. "

"And the only time I hurt, because he has never been able to touch me! "

Although the fight has officially lasted only 7:20, however, Bute had enough time to report on its know-how.

From the sound of a bell announcing the start of the first round sounded, the champion took over the center of the arena without using his jab in profusion.

Bute then picked up where he left in the second round, to be able to achieve the target several times, something that we had not necessarily used in the past.

    The fight round by round

ROUND 3: Miranda Bute yet reached the body, but it asks for more. Bute serves a left face, worse another assault to the body. Miranda is a sign that all is well, but finds himself on the mat before realizing what is happening. LUCIAN BUTE TO VICTORY!

ROUND 2: Bute works with his jab and cash without flinching. A beautiful duck followed by a blow to the body in the last minute. The study session continues. Map RDS.ca: 10-9 Bute (20-18 Bute)

ROUND 1: Bute is the center of the ring, but attacks are rare on both sides. No surprise, the champion, more active end of round, however, likes to take his time. Map RDS.ca: 10-9 Bute.

Ok, lads, here's a video interview with Bute after the fight. It's in Romanian.

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-yLjaEbojQ[/ame]

The bad news is that Bute seems to have no intention of going up to 175 lbs to fight Pascal (or, presumably, Dawson). If Pascal comes down in weight and they come to an agreement, then maybe, maybe, he says. "I don't need Pascal."

(This is the kind of language Pavlik used to use... and look where he is now...:-( )

He says he is waiting for the winner of the super six. That's the big plan.

He said Interbox had already made Stieglitz an offer but Stieglitz refused to fight him.

He says his next fight will hopefully be in Romania at the end of July.

He says it will be a fighter ranked in the Top 5 by the IBF.

    =====

So, unfortunately, it looks like Bute's next fight will be against someone like Curtis Stevens, Les Sherington, Mendy or Balzsay...

    ...a Joppy-type defence... :-(

Then, because Bute's plan is to unify, he'll have to fight his mandatory Bika/Brinkley at the end of the year to keep the belt... so that's 2010 out of the way....

... the earliest Bute could fight the winner of the super six is at the end of 2011. Of course, he would also have his pick of the two fighters that drop off from the tourney at the end of 2010... he could fight one or both in early/mid 2011.

    ...so that is that.

A bit disappointed, personally. Would have expected more. :verysad

Like I said, destined to have a shite run at it.

"Doesn't need Pascal", as if he's the true champion after beating up on worn out left overs? **** him.

We get it - you're a hater. Enough already; you've proved yourself as a world class Bute hater. Time to take it up a gear and start hating elite fighters. You're wasting your passion on a good but not great fighter.
