The only thing that can be questioned about the 12th round of that fight is why the ref didn't stop the fight before Bute went down. Even there, the ref knew Bute had won 10 out of the last 11 rounds, was the champ and wasn't mentally out of it, he was just dead tired, mostly due to his food poisoning prior to his fight...by the way.

It was discussed many times on this board that Bute was up after 8 seconds of being down. Per the IBF rules, he only had to get up within 10 seconds at the end of the fight in order to win if there was no time left. The ref asking a fighter to step forward instead of letting him hang on the ropes isn't a mandatory thing anyways, it's just a technique, etc.....

In general, Bute fans are much more objective than most other fans encountered on this site. Stick around long enough and you'll soon understand what I'm saying.......

I was saying that about all haters... not only you...
Question: who (except Kessler) did Ward beat? how many top 10's?
Ohhh... i just hope in the semifinals of the Super 6 there will be a rematch for Kessler - Ward... so Kessler can whip his ass

There was 5 seconds left in the fight when bute got down. 5 minus 8. If you still think there was time left, I give up.

your first paragraph belies your objectivity that you speak of in your third paragraph.

He got beaten around the ring, regardless of what excuse you hold.

And I've been around this site much longer than you. MUCH longer.

And I agree that Bute fans aren't worse than lets say Wlad fans, or Pavlik fans, that is for sure.

But as you can see from this thread alone, and questioning of their mans dominance leads to excuse making, teeth nashing, and general defensiveness.

Again, it's a shame, becaue like Pavlik, I like Bute as a fighter. They are both good guys, fun to watch and are generally good fighters.

However, their fanbase leaves a lot to be desired.

Oh, because I am definitely not a Bute hater. I like the guy.

Do you really think Kessler would be ablt to adapt and beat Ward?? It seems very unlikely.

GTFO, there weren't anymore time left on the clock. Stop hating, before posting be sure that your ''facts'' as you say are real, you would look less as a hating troll

Just for the record, I've been visiting this site ever since it started, although I didn't join the first couple of years...

Now in regards to your reply...

Keith, in all due respect, from the first Andrade fight, from the moment Bute went down, although the ref unfortunately acted like a ******, his actions at that point didn't change the fact that Bute was up at 8 and therefore respected the IBF rule book.

Now, like I said in my previous post, we can certainly make a claim that the fight could have been stopped prior to the knockdown cause Bute looked like a little doll being tossed around.... I just explained why the ref possibly let the fight go on.....it doesn't necessarily mean I agree with that decision before he went down.

    Cheers !

By the way, no disrespect to anyone, but objectively, the worst fan club on this site is easily the Mayweather one. You can say 9 great things outta 10 of their fighter, but they jump all over you for being critical of that 1 thing... They're by far the biggest, most dedicated to their man...

    Cheers to you too.

Good post, though I would still put the Wlad fans ahead of the Mayweather ones, but your are right they should be in the talk of the worst.

Seriously, there's no point in starting a discussion in threads that talk of Mayweather or that may lead to Mayweather-Pacquiao... It's ****in' pathetic and so predictable how it turns out...

Honestly Laffie, the Bute fans are some of the most respectful ones on this site. Of course being a fan will make someone at least a tad too subjective at times, but truth is Bute fans are generally a class act (numbers wise compared to many others) !!

Too many of the so-called boxing fans here have little understanding of boxing. There is a huge diffence between fighting a guy like Ward and guys like Miranda, Andrade and Bika. Ward is more skilled then Bute, has faster hands, and hasnt shown that he will fall apart under pressure.

I think that Ward would be Bute in about the same manner as he did Kessler.

I find it interesting however that no one is talking of Bute vs Dawson which is a fight that has a far greater chance of being made with Ward tied up in the super-six for the next two years.

Look at Miranda he was clearly done, even after the fight was waved off he was off-balance. If the fight had continued as some suggested, Miranda would of had to survive for 2 minutes and Bute is a hell of a finisher

The real knowledgeable Bute fans on this site certainly understand the big difference between Ward and Miranda kinds of fighters...

I see Ward possibly edging out a win but Ward vs Bute would be a close fight, much more than you claim. You've always been critical of Bute, it's a known fact from the regulars here...

I feel that Ward and Bute are in the same situation. Until they face eachother or Dirrell, both will look fast and skillful. Ward may beat Bute but Kessler and Bute are very different. How would Ward react to someone fast, accurate, AND powerful. It wouldn't be so easy for Ward.
