He won two out of three times against Cintron: a KO, a DQ and a draw. An instant trilogy for the ages in record time.

I thought it was an excellent performance from Martinez. You gotta give it to him. Round 9 was awesome. His last three fights have been good: Cintron, Williams, and Pavlik. And I had him winning all three.

But hey, now he's the champion at 160 and 154 so it all worked out for him.

I thought some of the commentary was a little biased in favor of Pavlik, but overall the broadcast was great. To see Martinez get what he has deserved for so long was pretty sweet for once.

Bute went out there and did what he was supposed to do. The guy will be a tough out for anybody at '68.

He did? :nut That's all we need...
My first summer, overseas, I put on EuroMTV and there's Seaside Heights. That memory still turns my stomach. MTV just won't leave Toms River alone. Go pick on Cape May or something!

I've never met him and really only know he exists because I hear a "Who the hell is this Edgar guy?" every once in a while around town. Granted, there's not much Toms River in "Toms River;" the street signs haven't finished being changed yet. It's kind of like giving a shout out to Washington D.C. and expecting anyone who doesn't live on your block to know which part of D.C. you're talking about.

Emmanuel Steward was fully into his, this fight is going exactly the way I thought it would, Pavlik has his rhythm and timing down and is outboxing Martinez.".......
......then Martinez who I thought slowed the tempo down too much in the mid rounds to let Pavlik have a go at it with the jab, then increases the tempo starting in round 9, and goes on to shut Emmanuel Steward and that whole HBO teams mouths, by battering Pavlik with aggression, speed, and angles.

    Great performance by Sergio Martinez!

.......got to also give props to Kelly Pavlik who though was cut up and bleeding pretty badly, did'nt harp on it as an excuse and gave Martinez the credit he deserved.
    :deal

Yes. This is what i cant stand about the HBO team. Martinez beat Williams convincingly but thats how it goes when you are the visitor. That **** needs to change and just let the boxing speak for itself. :good
