I just saw the KO and I have to admit that I really can't see what the big deal was. Miranda got stupid and payed for it. It wasn't like Bute was doing anything spectacular. He just made Miranda pay for his showboating. Bute's KO of Andrade was far more impressive in my opinion.
Miranda has been exposed many times over already. People just love to hype a heavy handed brawler.. it was a good punch by Bute.. but Miranda's chin is ****.
Yeah Miranda didn't see the punch coming so he got dropped. Bute had all the time in the world to set up that punch because of Miranda's inability to multitask (showboat and box at the same time). Bute's not the only fighter in the SMW division who can throw a decent uppercut. Miranda didn't show any sign of improvement and would pose little to no threat to at least 5 of the supersix fighters.
You don't think that punch was a good punch? If anyone could have dropped Miranda with a punch like that, why didn't Ward, for example? He's a complete fighter, after all... unlike Bute. A few people were impressed by that punch because you don't see it every day. The punch also confirmed again (after Andrade II) that Bute wasn't just going in there, waving his arms about, hoping for the best. He has a gameplan, he sets up his opponent, he times him very well and then he hits him flush with considerable effect. That is impressive; many world class fighter cannot do that, as elegantly and as effectively. But don't act as if any Bute fans are making much of this win. It's only those who don't like Bute that pretend Bute is getting overrated because of the win over Miranda. :yep
Beating Miranda isn't enough to keep that #1 spot. Look at Miranda's last string of fights. He's lost every time he stepped up. I mean I like Miranda. He's got heart. But the #1 should go to either Froch or Ward.
froch's rear uppercut wuda dun the exact if not worse thing to miranda abraham an pavlik at middlewight av ko'd him early so dnt c wat the hypes about da mans lost 5 times getta grip ppl miandas jus a punchers chance kinda guy nuffink more
It's not that people are impressed that he beat or ko'd Miranda, it's how devastating that uppercut was. Most wouldn't be upright and standing afterwards.
You're right. Finishing Miranda like that should drop Bute in the rankings. By stopping Miranda early on, Bute only exposed his lack of confidence in his stamina and chin. A real man would have gone 12 rounds with Miranda, only allowing the latter to win the odd round here and there, to keep Miranda's confidence up until the very end. What a coward, Bute...!
Look Decebal I like you and remember you from when you posted previously on the general forum so no reason to get all sour. I think that Bute's got massive talent, but anyone in the top ten of SMW who get the time that Miranda gave Bute to set up the punch could have executed it. My point is that Miranda is not a good measuring stick for the talent of any fighter at SMW. Of course if they loose to him it says something about their talent (Green * cough cough * Green) Bute should get in the ring with Stieglitz and unify while the rest of the top at SMW duke it out in the super six.
I remember you too. I had you down as a fair, good poster. But some of the posts you've made lately aren't that good and they certainly aren't fair, in my view. I am also a Kessler fan. I am disappointed he lost, but I am not bitter. Ward's win over Kessler was very impressive - it was one of the best wins/performances the division has seen in a long time, imo, if not THE best. But let's not hate on Bute just because Ward beat Kessler and because Kessler is fighting Froch next. That's not very nice. Kessler will be judged by his performance on the night given Froch's performance. The better Froch's performance and the better Kessler's the more props he'll get. Bute did the business against Miranda in impressive fashion and that's that. Kessler doesn't need Bute to fail to be once again regarded as one of the very best at SMW. Instead, he needs to beat Froch impressively, assuming Froch doesn't underperform. Making Ward No.1 will not make Kessler No.2. And making Froch No.1 will not make Kessler's win over him any more impressive either. It's all about the level of performance on the night of the two fighters. Good luck to Kessler. I hope he wins.
