ayala was a lightmiddleweight and benn was a massive middleweight whom turned a supermiddleweight , so what's the point in this thread ?
did you have any doubts yourself and wanted the forum's assessments ?

Benn probably would be harder to **** than some of the people Ayala fought. I go with Benn.

This thread has been done before, although it was a while ago! Yet, the consensus remains the same...it is not a viable match-up and benn would destroy him!!! I know there is one or 2 Ayala supporters who are extremely delusional about his abilities that might pick him, but most sane posters will not see any threat to Benn in this fight!!!

Again how many more times must Ayala be mentioned in hypothetical H2H match ups??? I know there were some experts and fans who felt Ayala was a sure thing...but he never got the opportunity to live up to that potential! From what we have seen of him I see nothing to show evidence that he would be able to endure any of the matches he has been placed in! perhaps in an alternate reality he could have grown into the force that people picked him to be, but all I see in this reality is a guy who was not ready for the big time, and didn't awe me as he was trying to attain that height!!!

now i love benn so much so my eldest sons middle names are nigel benn and yes i would pick benn here ,but the benn of the logan fight was wide open for left hooks and against ayala that would make it a dangerous fight
the super-middle benn was a far superior fighter to the middle version

i think this is my first ayala thread and yes there are loads i agree ,for my money the most over used fighter in the hypothetical match-up's is qawi

And the above average but not great Ayala was a far better Jr. Middle than Middle!

While I agree Benn was much better at SMW, his punch (and I see no way it does not land sooner or later...probably sooner) would be to much for Ayala. Ayala was not IMHO opinion in the same league as watson and Eubank! They both earned well fought plans, to wear benn down and score stoppages...I don't see Ayala with the skill necesary to stretch him like they did, or the defensive savy to avoid a big bomb like they did. I don't believe Ayala would see the 4th

i see this fight being rather like benn/logan or benn/barkley ,nigel would get hurt in this fight but he wins before the end of the 2nd for me,at this fight i know i would be jumping on my seat as i was at benn vs logan

If Tony can bust up the feared Cuevas at only 14, imagine how Tony's skillset improves by the time he reaches MW. El Torito had MW power and then some. Lamont Kirkland can attest and he was a noted LHW. Nigel hit damn hard too, but he's also there to be hit. This will be a fight to remember. Both guys give and take repeatedly, but a winner...I'll take Tony.
