I posted a list a few months ago, it was **** to be frank and I apologise for it. I think it is far improved here. Let me know what you think.

    1. Bob Fitzsimmons
    2. Jimmy Wilde
    3. Lennox Lewis
    4. Freddie Welsh
    5. Jim Driscoll
    6. Ted 'Kid' Lewis
    7. Jack 'Kid' Berg
    8. Ken Buchanan
    9. Benny Lynch
    10. Owen Moran
    11. Joe Calzaghe
    12. Peter Kane
    13. John Conteh
    14. Howard Winstone
    15. Randy Turpin
    16. 'Prince' Naseem Hamed
    17. Chris Eubank
    18. Nigel Benn
    19. Lloyd Honeyghan
    20. Joe Bowker
    21. Pedlar Palmer
    22. Alan Minter
    23. Tommy Farr
    24. Dave Charnley
    25. Ricky Hatton

I'm thinking maybe Conteh, Minter and Farr are a bit low and Turpin and Honeyghan are a bit high. John H Stracey, Herol Graham, Rinty Monaghan and Jackie Paterson all narrowly miss out. Obviously alot of these guys I'm only going by short clips of or the written word so it's difficult to put together. You might feel there are too many old timers, anyway like I said let me know what you think.

Here's a question... if Haye somehow manages to get past both Klitscho brothers in a bit of style (yes, BIG if, I know), then knocks out one or two more challengers and retires with all the belts round his waist, how would he feature in this list?

He would certainly be well up there, I'd have him just outside the top 30 now, to be honest I cant see him beating either Klitschko but it would be nice.

Froch will be in there by the time he packs in :deal

I don't think he needs much more to go ahead of Hatton, Calzaghe or Hamed to be honest.

On the list, it's pretty solid I'd say, a couple a bit high/low as you point out... I'd swap Lewis and Fitzsimmons around, Honeyghan a bit high, ditto Hamed.

It's a fair illustration of Britain producing lots of very good boxers but hardly any great ones - either that or they didn't prove their greatness in the ring because of shocking matchmaking.... always been a feature here and remains so.

I'm not a Froch fan but I will admit when he ends his career he will easily be top 25 the way he is going, if he beats Kessler and Abraham you have to have him above Calzaghe really although I dont think he is anywhere near as talented, just on record alone. Thanks for your input.

Yeah I tend to agree, might have to have a switch around regarding him.

Yeah moved him ahead of Winstone now, I think that's better.
