Is it fair that Bernard Hopkins is currently still in the p4p top ten?

Is it fair that Bernard Hopkins is currently rated (wth Ring) in the P4P top ten?

He's currently at number 6 p4p in the world with ring.

 

No, it's not right imo.

But ring ratings don't mean much anyway.

Yeah, I agree. The Ring means **** in reality. It's a magazine.

Even more so when it's a mythical thing like a magazine's P4P.

P4P lists are great for arguing in pubs and over a few beers. Absolutely ridiculous things to even be taken halfway sensibly.



The Ring, despite what people want, is fast becoming a joke.
It lists Hopkins at #6 P4P. Yet not long ago published an article on why Dawson should stop calling Hopkins out, because he's basically "too old, leave him alone".

Which is it? Is the the 6th best P4P in the world, or is he an old man that should be left alone by real, young, competitive fighters? Apparently the Ring think both.

 

I don't see why people feel Bernard is suddenly not a top P4P fighter.

Let me put it this way.

How the 'Ring' rates fighters is the last thing that's on my mind, as far as professional boxing is concerned.

I want to see good fights being made, I want to see upsets, knockouts, boxing clinics, brawls, wars, shutouts, I want to be entertained by watching boxing.

So imo, **** the Ring ratings.

 

Ring needs a new editor (and probably new ownership) if it's going to retain its stature in the sport. The Hopkins/Dawson stuff was a disgrace.

They are ****ing homers of the worst order.

 

Because he is finaly showing his age, if youre a bhop fan or a decent human being u wouldn't want him out there. Father time has caught up with him, and putting him in the pound 4 pound gives him an excuse to fight on. If Bhop fights the wrong fighter he could die in the ring and who wants to see that? Unless u buy that Roy jones hit me in back of ht head story, and even if you do why wouldn't any fight losing to him just hit him in the back of the head ?

 

He has no business in there anymore. One notable win in his last 4 fights stretching back over 3 years. Bernard Hopkins is no longer relevant when speaking of P4P fighters. A win against Dawson or Bute will put him back in there. Until he gets another win of that magnitude he can **** right off.

 

Coming from a big B-Hop fan, no it is not fair. B-Hop should not be there anymore.

 

No. He is barely top 5 from 168-175 much less top ten if you count all of the weight classes.


He's done, the Jones fight showed it.

He is just hanging on, but he did drop a few notches after his last outing. Only hanging on cause its not real strong at the top. Very deep after that, its a matter of time before many of these other young guns take over. Lot of them are already very good just need signature win to leap over Hopkins.
