Pavlik would knock Arthur Abraham and Lucian Bute out, easy. Pavlik definitely stands a chance against Ward.
If he can make the weight, he should stay at Middleweight. It is a poor division and he will will remain in the top bracket of fighters. A move up to Super Middleweight will be the end of his career should the fighters in the Super Six continue with their careers after the tournament.
You should pull your head out of your ass. Pavlik is only 28, hasn't taken a severe beating. There is still lots of money for him to make, as to be set for life. Martinez never hurt him, just cut him up where Pavlik could not retaliate.

Calling for Pavlik to retire is beyond premature, and this coming from someone (me) who is usually calling for fighters retirement lol. The only fighter this weekend that should retire is Miranda.
If he is mentally with it he would kick Williams ass, Froch too perhaps. Pavlik is a terrible style matchup for Williams. Beyond that I don't think he beats anyone at the top of the 168/160 divisions.
The only way he should retire now is if he sticks with the status quo- keeping the same corner and not conquering his personal demons. What he's got to do, in my opinion, is weigh out if he really wants to keep going and if the hunger's there to make the changes that need to be made. On the way up, when he had that, you'd need to kill him to make him quit a fight and that was evidenced in Taylor 1. Against Hopkins and Martinez, that same fire just wasn't there. Now, he's ballooning up between fights, drinks too much, and is surrounded by incompetent people who enable it while dedicated older fighters are now simply taking him to school. Not just in the ring, but how they approach fights. Martinez and Hopkins aren't wasting time, blowing off training, or bar hopping. When it's time to prepare, it's 110% boxing for them and they stay in shape all the time, and that's the only reason they can keep having success at their advanced ages. It's up to Kelly to either learn the lesson and make the sacrifices and changes that need to get made, or drop out of school altogether and leave it to the fighters that want it more. He's not too old to do it, but it's going to mean breaking out of his comfort zone if he wants to maximize what's left of his career. I'm not sure he's got it in him to make those changes, but I hope he does for his sake and the fans, because Kelly at his best is still an entertaining fighter to watch.
