Does criticism of Floyd spawn from jealousy?

    As he often says...

Is anyone on this forum in particular jealous of this man? Do you envy his ability or lifestyle or his money?

I've been critical of Floyd on this forum, but it has nothing to do with jealousy.

Good for him and his success.

But what he doesn't seem to realize, or maybe he does, is that his position in society, and the publicity that he receives, makes his words incredibly powerful.

People say he isn't who he is on TV and that who he portrays is merely a character to sell his fights and build upon his success, but who he is on TV is who we see and what the millions watching formulate their opinion on.

For an extreme example, imagine if Hitler talked all that bull**** about killin Jews only to turn to his wife at home and say, "Nah, I was just bullshittin. I don't give a **** about no Jews. ****, we got a big ass crib cuz a tha **** though. You know I got that."

My point is, we don't know who he is at home. We only know who he is as he portrays himself to the public. And from a societaly perspective, from an influential perspective, that is who you are. Because even if you're different than who you when you are alone than how you portray yourself with people, they only know you for who you are.

So my point is, for all the hypocrites that say the man is different than he makes himself out to be, but then agree with everything he says. Be real with yourself at least.

    But just remember...

What does it profit a man to gain the world, but to lose his soul?

Anyway everyone has got skeletons, and destiny is ultimately in God's hands, but if I'm going to put children upon this earth, I feel like it's my responsibility to conduct myself like a strong, mature, adult.

Maybe I'm wrong, but this pursuit of profit with no regard to how you gettin that money is not exactly settin the world up for the future as a place where you wanna be.

And while we're all blinded by what we got, always remember that God can take it all away in a flash, and he can make the thing we lust after the most worthless.

    Like I said though.....I don't know.......but I do know I ain't jealous.

    Are you?

That's just his own cop-out, let him have it.

Most criticism for him comes during his fights when he is boring the **** out of the paying public.

I think his boxing is great. I just think he's a bad role model.

I don't think the average boxing fan is pursuing the same goals as Mayweather, therefore I do not think it stems from success. The man is disrespectful to other fighters, contradicts himself in logic when dissing other fighters for things he does himself, arguably fights lesser opponents from time to time, espouses materialistic values without showing much class, and does not express himself in a mature manner. He's definitely talented and a great fighter, but the criticisms come from people who want to see more of a fight than a boxing chess match, people who criticize his resume, and people who just don't like his obnoxious personality. There are plenty of successful people to hate on leagues above Floyd, but he gets heat because of the reasons stated.

Hitting women is also a pretty big reason to criticize someone.

I can't judge the man for that. That's his personal business. Things happen sometimes in life.

    Jealousy ?Of what ??

You got to be real gay to hate on a man's success but even gayer to sweat a man's success ..

    More money , more problems.

I don't care what rung of the ladder you are in society - If you spend more time giving respect than demanding it, then its only going to rub a lot of people the wrong way.

Do you know what happened with this?

Maybe he walked in on his girl suckin another man's dick. Could you honestly say that you would be able to restrain yourself in that situation?

I'm not sayin it's alright, I'm sayin I don't what the situation was...

I think its because he comes off as a complete moron before most fights.. Cringe worthy and embarrasing at times that **** he says. I mean that "I'm a gorilla, I'm a dog!. I talk the most ****!" crap he was saying made me embarrased.. He's a great talent, but he acts like a 13 year old homo at times..

But he can judge him for trying to make money at the expense of losing his soul?

    Some obscure standards.
