I might have to be a bit biased in my views here as it was the Alan Minter v Vito Auntofermo fight when he won the World Title that got my hooked on boxing, I have never looked back.

I think overall during his career Alan Minter fought much tougher opponents on a regular basis. It was all on terrestrial TV too as satelite TV was only a thought on Tommorows World...:yep

Ricky Hatton had a carefully guided career and the key was not who he fought it was who he didn't fight or who is promoter made sure he stayed clear of, Junior Witter is a good example of this...:yep

I have had some great nights out watching Ricky Hatton including 3 trips to Las Vegas so this is certainly not been dismissive of what he has done. He fell short at the very top against the two best P4P fighters on the planet.

Alan Minter fought them all at the top of his division whilst he was up there at World Level and who can forget some of his domestic dust ups against the Finnegan, all contests been over 15 rounds too...:yep

    Alan Minter gets my vote...:deal

I think Hatton. The Tysuzu win tops Minters best.

Hatton, Minter was a good battler though

Hatton. More world class wins, simple as that.

    Minter for me just.

Licata, Seales, Finnegan, Robles, Tonna were very good wins and of course having the double over Antuofermo who was the number one in the division at the time.

Minter was before my time really, but if I watched a few fights of his when he was fighting I may vote different, and Hatton got me into boxing

Minter was an outright better fighter than Hatton.Much bigger puncher, superior skills in almost every respect- Hatton wasn't even a better infighter-and also took a punch much better.

Well said... Minter fought all his domestic rivals and in some cases more than once... Hatton boxed Thaxton and Magee once and never went near Witter...:yep A very carefully guided path...:yep

Auntofermo at the time was the best in his Division and Minter went into his backyard twice and did what he had to do...:good

It's a tough call but I am still sticking with Minter...:deal

You can argue Hagler was the best fighter at 160 while Vito was champ.
