Next build-up fight for Tua is a better one, it seems. He needs to fulfill his old TV contract with 2 more fights. This is one of them-

    TV3 in New Zealand reports:

"David Tua's next fight is being lined up in Brazil in June with American journeyman Monte Barrett the targeted opponent.
Tua's global promoter Cedric Kushner made the announcement on Maori Television, who still have two fights left on their three-fight contract with heavyweight Tua.
Kushner said a June 26 date had been set in Sao Paulo.
He was now trying to finalise details with Barrett.
The 38-year-old Barrett has 34 wins (20 KOs) and nine losses (5 KOs) in a professional career dating back to 1996."

Oh Boy. Let the circus roll on. I don't think they could have come up with a more stupid fight if they tried.

Shouldn't some sanctioning body be preventing Barrett taking this fight. He's shot to ****.

I'm not sure that it is finalized.

But I guess close to confirmation.

Every body beat Barret seems to be the cry for HWT's trying to make a splash

Wlad beat him early on in his career Valuev fought him when he came to the US He managed to beat undefeated Guinn and Beck and Tye Fields but lost to Solis and Ustinov guy is just a stepping stone now

    Another writer comments:

"Barrett is/was a tough nut, went 12 with Rahman, 11 with the Russian giant Valuev, 5 with Haye, 7 with a Klit. Keeps getting up after knockdowns..."

Should at least be a step up in Tua's buildup

Barrett was a solid fringe to top 10 contender at his best but that was years ago. If this was the early 2000s then Barrett would have been a solid choice but now he is shot. This can only serve to keep Tua active and keep his name in the public. Tua by ko.

at this point in his career, that's being kind.
For an inexperienced young kid, ok fine, but Barrett is not a Top 50 HW at this point.
