....that gave him more confidance in his fighting?? Did Hopkins give him a good talking to? Was it his wife leaving him that gave him more freedom? Is it being trained by the streetwise brother Naseem?

Because I mean the Mosley that fought Margarito was obviously much faster than the one that fought Mayorga... quite obviously. So what happened that gave Mosley more confidance in himself and his abilities?

I'll go with a combination of hooking up with Naseem and his wife leaving him and taking half his money.. what do you think?

Or was Margarito just slower than Mayorga and Shane faster at a lighter weight?

No but I mean we just havent seen this speed from Shane before I mean Shane was really fast especially with the right hand against Margarito he's always had a looping right hand but there was just more fury behind his power and speed something I just hadn't seen before from him (Cotto). Even back when he was on roids he was more solid but never had this speed in his muscles...wtf happened

    bro,
mosley always had fast hands, especially at lightweight. when he fought vernon forrest he was 38 an 0 with 35 ko's.

HIs two fights, versus winky wright he also looked very good despite being outclassed. if u watch the fight, mosley showed a lot of different attributes.

Then he had some warm up fight were did not look at impressive. Then he look fast against collazo, vargas. Mayorga, i think weight had something to do with it. vs cotto, i think shane just fought a **** fight, it happens.

The mosley who fought margarito is the shane that we all once knew. we just did not know if he had any left at this age.

margarito sucks.....he has no defense...stands right in front of you with little movement and throws wide punches.....

cotto could have done something similar to margs if he wasnt too proud to tie guys up....shane took what cotto was doing....and added the much needed wrinkle of clinching....

but cotto was on the backfoot for most of the match, againt the ropes etc, that where he got in most of his offence in the first 3 rounds,Mosley was in Margarito's face, not allowing him to dictate terms or come forward, so how in the hell were they similar??????

cotto also looked like he was fast as **** too for about 6 rounds...he was drilling margs with some pretty fast combos.....why...because margs doesnt move and he is slow(not that cotto is slow or something...just saying)....cotto doesnt tie up...so if you keep moving forward against him...he will back up...margs was eating his punches and he could still back cotto up.....shane decided after he landed he was going to keep moving forward...if cotto wasnt too proud to tie up and kept coming forward...he probably could have put on a similar performance(notice i said he probably could have...not he was similar...just like in my orignal post).....shane learned what exactly to do by watching what cotto didnt do....

Sorry re-read ur original post and see what you mean, although i dont really think Cotto has the size or the power to do that to Margo, I was shocked the way Pac overpowered Cotto, so there's no way in my eyes he could do that.
But he did become horribly one dimensional as that match progressed, he was landing at will and then all of a sudden just stopped, I know Margo started coming in from side to side rather than straight on as he was in the first 4-5 rounds, but still a guy of Cotto's class could havwe easily read this and got his own shots off.
I didnt think it was possible for him to look so clueless and lost in there, especially considering the ko he did to Torres, when he looked out on his feet and was getting tagged by bombs, yet in the 8th pulled out enough energy when he supoposedly weight drained too, to stop Ricardo.
Then again if ur getting hit by Plaster of paris for 11 rounds straight, you will eventually jsut wanna quit .

Have you watched Shane at lightweight? Because watching him against Cotto, who I would call deceptively faster than he seems, then watching him against Margarito who has always had lackluster speed for someone on the world class level, can make the same fighter look very different. Like the difference between Ali VS Frazier and Ali VS Foreman. Ali's fast either way, but looks much faster against a ponderous fighter than against a smaller, faster guy.
