with Valero, Funeka and Guzman leaving it leaves the division weak.

would have him top 15 not top 10.

Seems to me that he is going round in circles, should be fighting better opposition and progressing.

pretty much the EBU are in financial trouble along with the commonwealth so they are just handing our the belt to whoever pays the fees

Interesting to read that EBU are in trouble financially. That said, come on lads, title fights have never been based entirely or sometimes remotely on merit throughout boxing history so I'm not going to get worked up about it. Buncey's Don King quote springs to mind.

If I was continental fight fan I might be pissed off though with our boys getting to square off.

Good to see Murray back and with TV deal on my birthday too, especially of the wrong lot gets in at the election the night before.

Murray needs to ****ing step up. He's had nearly 30 fights now and his most meaningful win is probably a stoppage over a shot Thaxton who was coming off two bad losses. It's pathetic really. Not blaming him, he doesn't make the fights, but his career is being managed horribly. If he does get himself into a mandatory position eventually he will be in no kind of shape to actually win the fight as he won't have had any real tests. We need to start matching our fighters harder, especially when it's at least 10 fights beyond the point where you could still reasonably call them a raw prospect.
