    Good.

How many times do all the ****ing ******s on here need to be told.

After Cameron, Tua has to satisfy a three-fight Maori TV contract (not a big enough network to generate big money with a top ranked contender) against lesser opposition before making his push for a title.

Friday fight is announced. People ***** and/or make snide comments.

Refrain: After Cameron, Tua has to satisfy a three-fight Maori TV contract (not a big enough network to generate big money with a top ranked contender) against lesser opposition before making his push for a title.

Tua outpoints Friday. People ***** and/or make snide comments.

Refrain: After Cameron, Tua has to satisfy a three-fight Maori TV contract (not a big enough network to generate big money with a top ranked contender) against lesser opposition before making his push for a title.

Next opponent announced. People ***** and/or make snide comments.

****ing idiots. Just can it until he escapes the contract. If he gets out of it, and winds up in the ring with a Cliff Couser or Travis Kaufman (again, this is two fights from now...) - then, people can harp on Tua not taking his world title pipe dream seriously enough and complain about the opposition.

Let the ****ing Maori TV deal run its course and if you have nothing positive to contribute STFU up until it does.

Not really a reason. The Maori TV deal only covers coverage in New Zealand. The only reason to fight this quality of opponent is if the fight is in New Zealand. Even then the only reason to do that is because the promoter doesn't think anyone overseas has any interest in buying the rights to the fight so the go for a cheap opponent to be on the safe side.

Really it's the same old mismanagement that has plagued Team Tua the past decade. Thats what happens when you get your wife to be your manager and Kushner as your promoter.

    Hmmm.

IB - do I sense a slight strain of frustration?

    (So slight I hardly noticed)

Dude, are you seriously ****ing mentally ******ed?

This fight is part of his binding obligation. It's going to air on MTV, whether it's in New Zealand or not. The geographical location has **** all to do with who has the broadcast rights tied up. His management problems were with Barry/Pugh, and those ties are severed and the issue dead and buried. That he's promoted by Kushner is irrelevant. Whether he's under the Gotham Boxing banner or not, Tua will be able to position himself for a world title challenge (and has a name and reputation to interest American TV as long as the opponent is someone they consider to be of note...like Arreola) if he starts knocking out top ranked contenders after satisfying his current binding obligation (hopefully by year's end).

This Maori TV deal really sucks, shot corpse Barrett is significantly lower quality opposition than the durable Friday.
    Tua by brutal KO 2.

Of course the geographic location has something to do with it. They get Maori TV in the states do they? I'm pretty sure they will be blocking IP's outside New Zealand from streaming from their website as well.

As you said Barry and Pugh have been out of the picture for a while. His wife and kushner have been steering the ship for years. Thats why he hasn't faught anyone good in nearly a decade.

Brazil's not in the United States. :? Separate country.

The fight's in Brazil, dude. That doesn't mean it won't be televised in New Zealand. Tua has to give MTV this one, and then one more fight in 2010, and he's free.

IB - he has a point

Tua could fight an Arreola or Peter in the States for big money in a US PPV.

    MTV only has NZ rights

Oh no. Monte is going to get knocked the **** out. This could be bad for his health as well if Tua connects big with the left hook. Damn what a foolish move by Monte - he could suffer serious permanent damage from this fight.

I'm expecting his opponents to get better, but not much.

The problem is that if you were a contender, would you want to fight Tua? Hell no.

Possible fights that would be a step up from this one:

Holyfield - Just won that belt nobody cares about, and is unlikely to be able to parlay that into anything worth while. Flip side, would be a milestone for Tua to pick up a championship and knock off a familiar name.

Povetkin - This guy is obviously scared to death of Wlad, and that fight is languishing. Tua could possibly turn something out there? I'd have to guess a UD for Povetkin, though Tua always has the left hook in his pocket...

Ruslan Chagaev - What else does this guy have going on?

Ademek/Areolla Loser - I'm sure the winner is hoping for a match with Haye, so no way they will take a chance on Tua...but the loser might.

My understanding is that after Cameron his immediate next three bouts were to be aired on Maori, and that after that he would be able to chase the bigger names and compete on foreign networks. :huh

That probably means it takes at least a year or so before he takes a meaningful fight again. Tua and his business decisions are a mystery to me...

The plan was to have it done by end of summer/early fall 2010.

He's actually not far off schedule, if the 2nd of three fights in his contractual obligation (since Cameron in October) is indeed in June.
