Just curious as it seems like if you jump at someone as they come at you you could seriously injure a man or even yourself if they catch you first?

I am just wondering as the momentum generated could seriously hurt an opponent.

Haye does this Achilles punch. I don't think ti is illigal, but it is risky.

I want to know if someone could actually post official rules...I would like a definite answer if possible

  4. I'm 99.9% certain it's not allowed. I don't know where to dig up the rule though.

Roy Jones tends to hop / jump sometimes when he throws.

I don't see how it would be illegal.

I think so. It's kind of like they are reaching when they power punch.

according to wikipedia some people are of the opinion that, "... [the] check hook exists but is an illegal punch due to it being a pivot punch which is illegal in the sport."

just wondering is this a matter of opinion or is it written somewhere.

It seems only the most athletic have been listed as pulling off these risky punches: Tyson, Jones, Hamed, and Haye.

Remember Naz pulling off a variety of these leaping/lunging punches very effectively.

Is Floyd Patterson's leaping punching the same thing? kinda confused here.

Also, since we're here. I've no idea why a double punch would be deemed illegal, as seen in the Pac-Clottey fight. Or a backfist, like in Wing Chun, which would connect with the knuckle part of the glove anyway.
