I agree with you. His stamina and workrate wasn't there, either. He was getting way too tired for what he threw compared to what he used to be capable of. All in all, it just didn't look like he wanted to be there that night. Sergio, on top of being quicker and more skilled, was also the fresher, better conditioned, and hungrier fighter.

It's been known since he came on the scene that his corner is bad.

The cutman's name was Sid Brumbach. He was the cut man for Kermit Cintron for Kermits first 24 fights. Sid has worked over 900 fights, and over 100 world title fights. He is a complete professional. I can assure you that he was 100% prepared for his job that night. He shows up with every single commission approved coagulant. He has an extensive medical background.
As for those pf you criticizing his treatment of Pavliks cuts... maybe you should pay more attention. He was not just putting pressure on the cuts. if you would have looked more closely you would have seen that he had rolled gauze which was soaked in coagulant pressed into the cut, and then had dry gauze over top as to prevent any of the medicine from running into Pavliks eyes.
The cuts were stopped in the corner, but Martinez was quick to connect with hard punches and reopen the cuts.

I have also heard that the reason Pavlik canceled his fights with Williams wasn't because of a staff infection. Word is he has a cocaine habit, and serious drinking problem.

They should have thrown in the towel at the end of the 10th...Pavlik had no chance of KO'ing Martinez in the last two rounds and was down on the cards

At one point in the corner he started to say "I can't even see" and Loew shouted over him to keep his mouth shut or they'll stop the fight. Bad move by the trainer imo, if your fighter is saying he can't see then the fight should be stopped.

Did corner did a good job on the first cut, it wasn't looking bad enough as rounds went. The 9th though he was busted real bad, new cut, bleeding from the mouth and everything. His corner tried to slow it down, Martinez didn't help. The cuts were just too bad.

Uh oh... I can see the video now, with Zelenoff quoting that for proof positive that he's the next Kelly Pavlik.

I'm 23 and I refer to people twice my age as "kid". Just the way some people talk.

no not really, as soon as Pavlik got off his stool in the 10th the blood was quickly streaming again

and enough of this quitter talk, he finished the fight, nothing wrong about having thoughts about quitting just aslong you dont actually do it.,
