I think its possible he could be coaxed out of retirement but he would really have to be baited i mean really baited so that he doubts himself you get the feeling joe loves his 0 but is also worried about peoples perceptions of him.

With his dissilussionment from life after boxing it does make itself a bit more likely. I think the best hope would be for froch to do well enough for people to start comparing the two maybe ko kessler decisively and then joe will come back to fight a name opponent to prove how good he was. Doubt he would fight Froch though dont think he wants to give him the satisfaction Hopkins 2 possibly maybe even Kelly Pavlik, Bute or Dawson

theres a couple of fights out there for him.

Glen Johnson fight never came off.
    Hopkins re-match
    Dawson vs Lacy winner
    Winner of the super 6
Cleverly if he wins a world title
Froch if he wins super 6 of not
    Winning a belt at Cruierweight

I am sure Sky Box Office would pick it up agaisnt a live opponent.

    1. Butes team wouldn't take the fight
    2. Calzaghe is not going to make Super Middleweight, the only thing Bute brings to the table is the IBF belt.

Yet, nothing from the man himself. he's not an idiot. His record means more to him than any money he'd make in a comeback.

Joe didn't earn that much during his career, and of course he was shortchanged by FW ...if as reported he is going through the Columbian marching powder like its going out of fashion and partying every night then the burn rate on his cash stash might well be high...who knows, he may need to come back to pay the bills, love for his 0 or not

If this happens, I hope some serious scientific types document fully the effect Calzaghe's return has on the general forum.

Aye, warm up against Reid, then fight the winner of Pascal/Dawson. Makes sense.

His record is comparitively terrible. He'd prove more losing to Chad Dawson or the super six winner then he managed in 47-0 crappy fights.

Think 2012 end of the world scenario, and that would still only cover 1% of effect:nut

There were some tin cans in there. But certainly some guys who weren't easy touches. Brewer, Prime Kessler, Woodhall, mitchell, lacy (although that was more about dispelling the myth rather than beating a formidable guy).
It is easy to bash a fighter for his record, but although there was some good matchmaking there, you can't tell me 46-0 all of the guys were bollocks.....can you :deal
