boxers at the top like Floyd and Pac don't need any belts. That will teach the sanctioning bodies a lesson.

There will always be belts. If they want the belts they will pay it, and eventually they will want the belts.

It increasing feels like "the sport" of boxing is becoming extinct. What we have is "a game" where a variable set of rules and regulations are constantly being arranged thus making it difficult to set an expectation.

Mosley's belt needs to be staked in this fight or else what's the point of the title? What would be the point in having any titles? The titles are there so people can identify champions and if Mayweather is victorious on May 1st I just don't see how a professional sport could justifiably identify the loser as "champion".

    Complete and utter madness.

    -end rant

What's the point in having multiple "world championships" in each weight class? What's the point in the WBA itself crowning multiple "world champions" in each weight class? What good comes from the sanctioning bodies going out of their way to prevent unification and stripping champions who seek to fight other champions instead of their inferior mandatories?

You honestly don't understand why Mayweather isn't interested in "stalking" Mosley's title? These championships don't mean a goddamn thing anymore. The focus should be on the best fighters face each other in each division irrespective of whether or not a brass and leather trinket is on the line. I find it baffling that you're more considered with this so-called title than the fight itself.

belts are meaningless at this point. Its all about being the UNDISPUTED P4P champ.

Manny and Pac will settle this once and for all.

Boxing has become the BCS college football of sports. Who needs championship belts when you got higher rankings and the ******ed Ring Magazine and their belt?

Belts are only worth what the champion makes them into.

Ali gave a **** about the title.
    Foreman wanted the title.
    Evander wants the title.

    It's all madness, I know.

My qualm, in this instance, is with the circumstances of the sport, not Mayweather.

My pet peeve in no way disrupts my interest in the actual fight. I am however a close follower of boxing and my disgust is more less for the casuals who aren't privy to the politics. It's just another example of how confusing and unstructured boxing is which unfortunately turns many fans off from the sport.

Somebody on here told me a while back that this was going to happen and I said, no, no, no, he'll want that WBA belt as a bargaining chip for Pacquiao no matter what he says now. Okay, so I'm not a psychic.
