From a boxing website where there is a scene: It says that he was forcing his wife to take drugs too, and kept his whole family in fear by threatening them. It also says he was using both drugs and alcohol since he was 18 years old and really had a problem with it. No wonder his life spiraled down straight to hell like this. Read the whole report guys. Gives a lot of insight about him.
cause he never fought in Nevada where drugs and alcohol are illegal. Wouldn't surprise me if he never took a drug test during his fights in Japan or anywhere else for that matter.
I don't care if he's never even competed in America. It hurts the sport of Boxing when there is a double standard. You'd think he would've gotten caught at least once out of those 27 fights he's had. The drug testing system is already bad as it is. And to hear **** like this just makes me feel like I can't trust the sport to show me a clean fight.
it does hurt the sport of boxing...but not for giving a fighter an unfair advantage..... it hurts the sport of boxing, as it is not doing enough to PROTECT fighters behaving in this manner from themselves i hardly think taking the drugs this man was on, and his levels of alcohol abuse gave him an advantage in his fights lol !:nut
Ken Adams, a solid trainer, left Valero some time ago due to Valero's lifestyle. That was a catastrophe for Valero. The man reportedly started doing coke at 18 y/o. Even thoough he departed 27-0, I doubt he was ever 100% focused at any stage in his career. On a different topic, detecting coke in a drug test, it's easy to pass the test since it only stays in your system for a couple of days. Only if your dumb like Whitaker and sniff like the day before a big fight are you likely to get caught.
