this may be old news but with the recent info regarding felix sturms elevation to the status of wba super champion comes the news that anthony mundine the no 1 contender will fight golovkin the no 2 contender for the regular wba title. I see this as somewat of a joke considering this will be mundines chance at a third regular belt having won two previously at sup middle.......he has a chance at being known as a three time world champ having NEVER defeated a champion to win one
does anybody know if the regular champ and the super champ have ever fought each other .....i cant think of any time ?????
The super champ and regular champ thing isn't meant for unification to my knowledge.You're the super champ if you're widely recognized or hold another belt as well as a WBA strap.Or they need more money so they open up their regular belt.
I seem to think that when Hopkins was MW WBA super champ he fought Joppy who was WBA regular champ. Could be wrong, it was a while ago, but think thats correct
WBA is a joke, this needs to be addressed, its bad enough that there are all these extra weight classes and belts but now these ****ers have decided that they are gonna have more than 1 champ, inexcusable. This is what Hurts Boxing the most,

It is a freaking joke. The WBA is now violating their very own rules. The Super Champ is given to the WBA champion with more than one belt. Since Sturm is not unifying with anyone they will make him Super Champ automatically so that then they can charge more fees for the regular belt. What a load of bull. Makes me glad that Mayweather is not paying the WBA fees for the Mosley fight. :yep
couldnt agree more screw them............what the hell has sturm done to be a super champ...calzaghe i could understand when he was recognised as a linear champ etc but sturm does more duckin outside the ring than in it !!!!
