My grandpa was a golden gloves champ, and my father was a very good amateur... He lost a split decision to a guy that went on to be a good pro boxer but I forgot his name.

My family actually has a bit of natural boxing ability, I put most of my passion into wrestling and was extremely successful at that.

I have a few boxers in the family. My Grandfather was the British Army welterweight champion during his service and sparred and trained with some of the professional British champions of the day. Apparently he was thought to be a big prodigy and had a lot of trainers that wanted to take him on as a professional. He was married young though, had a promising career in medical science and didn't fancy the instability of boxing. He's 80 years old now, though still runs a club and coaches boxing! He taught me when I was young and gave me the style I have today.

My uncle was a promising amatuer, won a few competitions in Scotland I believe (apparently he beat up Scott Harrison's dad) but never had his heart in it and gave up in his late teens.

Weirdest of all, my great uncle emigrated to New York City from Ireland and boxed there professionally for a number of years (between World Wars I guess). Legend has it he knew Jack Dempsey and was in Dempsey's corner for one of his title fights, but there is no firm evidence of this; just word of mouth and a hazy old photo, apparently. At any rate, it didn't work out for him - he got into some sort of boxing-based dispute and was murdered by the New York Mafia! I should add that is literally the only interesting thing about my family haha.
