I'm not going to bother trying to rank Super Middleweight until the tournament ends and the winner fights Bute. It's too complicated and top heavy right now.

Yeah i would agree with that, I find it hard to put Bute a head of some of the super 6 as if they get beat or beat someone its by someone in the top tier of the division. Except Allan Green i don't think he is going to do well in it.

The only way i see Bute moving up while the Super 6 is going on is if Pavlik comes up and gets a few wins under his belt then Bute beats him. Maybe he can pick off the first 2 to go out of the super 6.

Uh, HBO may be more mainstream, but most true fans would agree that HBO has the upperhand in quality of presentation, while Sho has the advantage in quality of bouts in general, of course there are exceptions... I guess it depends on what you favor though..

Secondly, through the super six tournament, all of those fighters are proving themselves against other world class fighters, of multiple styles... No offense to Miranda, but he was a B level fighter BEFORE he blew all his steam out going to war so much... The version of Miranda that Bute fought wasnt even that.

Bute is going to have to outbox someone other than fighters who are known as only having a chin(..Miranda doesnt even fit this now) and a punchers chance anyway.. KOing Andrade was impressive, but outboxing him, and Miranda, is not.

The hype is getting a little stupid.

Until Bute fights some of the super six he will never be the man in the division in my eyes. He can beat all the non elite fighters he wants, until he beats someone in the super six (besides green) he wont be number one, and maybe not even number two, IMO. Those go to the super six fighters, IMO.

:blood I was definitely not expecting a TKO or KO win for Bute, almost sure most of the forum was expecting a wide UD. The fact he KO'ed Andrade moved him up a fair bit.

Either way like Kirk says Bute can fight all the non elites he can but he won't get past the top 3 for me.

I wasn't either but it really doesn't matter to me. When a dude says

"I like getting punched in the face... it make my body tingle"

what can you expect... he was bound to get ktfo at some point.... bute already fought the guy once so he knew how he fights... people should have saw it coming... either way I knew andrade was going to get an ass whooping

    I dont necessarily disagree but...

    Ward's best win = Kessler.
    Kessler's best win = ....:think

Who can really tell if Bute is the number one SMW ? But one thing is sure, he's the most spectacular fighter right now at 168 and that's why he's on HBO.

niether at the minute to be honest because they need each other.

the super 6 needs bute to really be the definetive line up of 168 fighters

and bute needs the super 6 because all the other top guys are in it.

  13. 100% wrong on all accounts. :deal

While Bute is fighting fringe contenders and S6 leftovers, the actual top fighters in the division are FIGHTING EACHOTHER in the S6. Not that Bute isn't the goods, he clearly is... Is he "in control?" No. Showtime is in control of the 168 division right now.

Didn`t take 12 rounds for Bute to Beat Miranda like Ward did either...

Bute had health issues ignored at that time. When he didn`t lokk what happened ...
