Right now I'd take Martinez in a heart beat. Prime Winky at 154 would probably win a pretty wide UD.

 

Winky would school him. Winky was a master at cutting the ring off. Winky via UD.

Winky is done...he got destroyed by Williams, remember? Martinez beat Williams IMO...I think Martinez wins at any time in their careers

 

Martinez throws alot of combos then moves which isnt what Wright likes. Wright needs to be able to jab and back guys up who dont give him angles and lateral movement. Winky stays in the shell and regardless of him being hit clean or not he will get outworked. Paul Williams didnt land clean very often infact the clean shots where mostly landed by Wright but who won about 10 rounds ? Paul did. I would like to see the fight though only if Winky goes out and wins a fight considering this guy hasnt won a fight since Ike Quartey over 3 and half years ago.

we can talk about this but this fight wont happen . martinez future is pretty easy to see. a rematch with pavlik since there is a rematch clause. i hope pav just moves to 168 an chooses not 2 fight him again. the other most likely would b to fight the winner of williams v cintron

 

I think Winky could still beat him, but the inactivity is really killing his career.

i doubt it. winky lacks the speed and variety.

martinez has done way better than winky up at middleweight, a touhg division for apparently light hitting southpaws like those 2. martinez has a case for beating paul williams, and beat the middleweight champ. unlike winky.

martinez is the more versatile fighter and the one we've seen in the last 4 or 5 fights would beat the best version of winky wright.

martinez is clearly a superb fighter. i failt o see why anyone would think that a younger wright could school this version of martinez. perhaps most of the posters are simply more used to winky wright.
