Utter nonsense. Mayweather lays on the ropes because he fights brilliantly off of them. Infact Floyd is probably more dangerous against the ropes then in the center of the ring, because on the ropes he can put leverage on his punches

Not at all. His defense wasn't better than Floyd and Whitaker.

True, so very true. He also used to turn his back to his opponent, right after he made him look like a fool..... But Damn the man's defense was still top notch.

Floyd likes to use his forearm and push off to the opponents throat...he's been warned several times...But just like I said about Sweet Pea damn his defense is top notch.

Based on what he said, I wasn't compelled to delve deeper.

And this is the reason I would favor Sweet Pea if he ever fought Floyd.

No he doens't, he sits on them and throws very little back, shelling up his hands and making it difficult to counter-punch. If he could have kept DLH in the centre of the ring, he would have won the fight widely. Against any solid pressure fighter (or someone intelligent enough to take their opportunities), he would get a complete working over on the ropes.

He gets more leverage on his punches while leaning back with his head stuck out, trapped in one position? Sounds very likely.

Look at the damage Pernell took during his first 40 fights and compare it to the damage Floyd has taken during his first 40 fights. There is no comparison, Floyd's D is better. Floyd has the best D the game has ever saw.

Mayweather is best when he's in close and in the pocket. He can be hit when he moves forward.

    edge to Whitaker

Look who Sweet Pea fought? He fought better fighters and he fought them in their prime. and I still don't remember him taking a lot of punishment until he tested positive for cocaine and fought past his prime. I love Floyd he's my favorite fighter right now and he's one of my top ten favorite fighters of all time, but I remember him taking punishment from Phillip N'dou, Jose Louis Castillo and he was rocked by Chop chop Corley, Zab Juda was getting the better of him till Floyd made those quick adjustments and broke him down, just to name a few.

Yeah Judah won three rounds but we ain't talking rounds , we're talking punishment and he WAS getting to Floyd do you deny that? south paw I love Floyd he's my guy so I ain't trying to discredit him. You act like the guy ain't never been hit at all damn. I agree with a lot of the stuff u say in ur post, but damn dude you got to be realistic about Floyd he's got flaws just like every fighter has( just not as many), he can be beat like every fighter can that's all I'm saying. Damn ur starting to sound like some of them Pac fans, that think they guy don't have any flaws and can't be beat.

Not only was Sweet peas defense better than Mayweather, but his power was better also. If they met prime for prime, my $$$ is on SP by 8th rd TKO.
