Or be rembembered as the guy that gave pac all that he could handle so much so that he denied a request for a third bout.

Not as the guy who nearly beat Pac, but the one that got robbed.

Manny got screwed in the first fight to only get a draw instead of the clear 2-3 point win he earned. Marquez got screwed in the second fight when he didn't at least get a draw or perhaps a 1 point win. They were both good fights. I don't want to see a third because I agree with most who think Manny would obliterate Marquez at this point at any weight they agreed to fight at and it would tarnish the memory of the previous two excellent fights.

Unfortunately Marquez will always be remembered as the third guy behind Morales and Barrera. And for drinking his pee.

Marquez will go down as a master boxer. Which he is. The OP citing his resume means **** to me. Being soo good you're held out of opportunities and avoided in your prime has no bearing on a fighters application skill and overtly apparent skillset. The whole argument exposes the overwhelming flaws in basing a fighters worth on their resume alone. No chance I could take that seriously.

Pffft... To WHO? Pacquiao fans? Boxing is about perseverance, balls, and heart. Alot of people think Marquez may have won that fight despite the knockdowns. THAT is what he'll be remembered for, fanboy.

Sometimes it's kind of sad that you don't hear this said enough in the forums. It was an incredible fight and it's a damn shame that people focus on the results more than they do the actual fight. Especially when you hear people say that one fighter "schooled" the other. It was incredibly intense and uncharacteristically tactical (for a Pac fight that is) and very close. People take the fight too personally I think but if you can step back and view it with non-hugging or non-hating glasses, an epic fight indeed.

sadly this might end up as pac-morales trilogy now. Marquez looks like he has loss a step while pac is still a monster.
