You don't get it. He was known as Superman because he was not a technician and he was so good. It's similar to Ali, he was technically very flawed but he was ridiculously fast and mobile. All you need to do is watch Roy.

What you're not getting is that we're actually praising him for it, nobody's knocking Roy Jones here, stop being a wildman.

Master technicians like Robinson or Hopkins do very well when past their prime because they have mastered the technical aspect of boxing, that doesn;t diminish like your reflexes or your speed.

Ali is the only exception, when his reflexes and speed left him, he changed his style slightly to accomodate that.

Fighters like Hilario Zapata, who had like the best reflexes ever seen, started to lose when past their best. Like Jones, he loses all the time now that he has no legs or reflexes.

Stop taking offence, in his prime Jones was one of the most effective of them all. But you've got your analysis of fighters upside down.

Roy Jones could throw the jab if he wanted to, and showed that.

Roy Jones could fight off the ropes, a highly technically skill..if he wanted to, and he showed that.

Roy Jones could throw 8 hooks in a row.....!

Roy Jones could turn his defence into offence within a split second, he would block your in coming punch with his left, and hook off it in milly seconds.

Roy Jones could walk forward with a Ronald Winky Wright defence, with a tight solid guard...which he tried to adopt more and more in his later career.

What excalty couldn't Roy Jones do, he could do everything.

Don't tell me, that these **** looking Light Heavyweights of today have more basic fundamentals than Roy Jones Junior.....or some ****ing robot like Kessler..!

I don't wanna hear that at this time of night, nahhhh no ****ing way.

Roy Jones is shot to pieces, but is still a great athlete...and i refuse to accept the statement that he has no technically ability and no basic fundamentals.

You don't achieve the ****, Roy Jones has...with just physically ability.

No one here as disagreed with me..!!!!!!!

How did he throw his combinations, and execute his punches with amazing artistic style..?

Bernard Hopkins is not a master technician, he's just a educated very dirty fighter. James Toney is by far the better technically fighter than Bernard Hopkins, if Bernard Hopkins couldn't hold and grabb...he would be really really ****ed.

What do you guys think will happen to Floyd Mayweather when his reflexes and athletic ability's deter....??????????

Roy Jones had a greater offence than Floyd Mayweather Junior, and still got hit less than him.

I'm not talking to you anymore kid, you don't understand, or you do and just don;t want to back down.

    Last time-

he threw eigt shots or whatever in a row, he did all kinds of insane ****. But he's a million miles away from boxing technique 101. You can;t just state stats, because technique is relative to HOW things were done. You need to watch him to see, then you can;t argue because it's blatant.

Technical combos are Ruben Olivares, not Roy Jones, who was a freak of nature and would smash the **** out of guys because of his speed and power,

Your argument apllies to every fighter ever, 'if he was not technical then how come he could throw a ****ing right hand?', that applies to Ricardo Mayorga and ****ing Battling Siki.

I'm not replying to you anymore, you're definitely wrong and your posts are insane.

I can't believe the comparison you just made about Toney and Hopkins.

Footwork my friend, footwork, and moreover, ring ****ing generalship. You're the worst poster i've debated with. I'm gutted you're a scouser.

You can have all the Speed and Power in the world, but still throw combinations like a sissy.

Roy Jones had Speed and Power, but he had the technique and co-ordination for his brain to understand, what a jab was, what a hook was, what body shot was......and he put all that **** together and ****ed guys up.

    Simple as ****ing that..

What you are saying is going a against science itself...

So your trying to tell me, it was just speed and power alone. Which enabled Roy Jones to throw combinations..? that does not make any sense at all.

So that's why you won't reply to me, yes and you will back down.

I'm right, and your ****ing wrong.

    I win...

No you're ******ed. Ricardo Mayorga is technically sound then because he managed knockouts. What's your game ****-head?! Stop pissing me off now, i've explained a thousand times and you're just going over the same tracks that aren;t leading anywhere.

    Eat my ****!

To answer the OP Question....Yes i do get emotional listening to RJJ talk. The guy loves the sport and anytime he talks i listen, Sometimes i ain't got a clue what he on about but i nod in appreciation because the man is a legend and a ATG and for some on here one of the greatest, I grew up watching him, I thought he couldn't be beaten and now it makes me sad seeing him lose to likes of Tarver and co who wouldn't of lived with a prime RJJ.

RJJ would have been an ATG in nearly any sport, lucky for us he chose boxing.

This thread is almost legendary. Prima cries about a roy jones video, gets owned by two seperate classic guru's, they fall in love with each other. Prima returns with 'the power of grayskull line'. Gay lovers then attack prima with the fury of a young roberto duran. What next?
