    Respect Librado!!! :good

Here is an excerpt of an interview given by Lucian to a Romanian journalist before the Miranda fight, that I have translated! He talks about what went wrong before Andrade1.
    Full article in romanian here!

    .......

"They wanted to postpone my fight"

What happened in the first Andrade fight? In the last round u fought him face to face and were about to lose...
I was standing in front of him because I was exhausted. I never told what happened for real back then because I didn't want to be accused of looking for excuses

    What did actually happen?
At the the end of August I interrupted my training for the Andrade fight and left to Romania for my little sister's wedding. This threw my over from the beginning. Fatigue, airplanes, time zone changes and a different nutrition.

But... in maximum one week from reentering your program u should have recovered...
It wasn't only that, When I reached Montreal, I got food poisoning. I was no longer good for anything. I would loose weight without doing anything. I reached 78 kg, during my training I was at 82-83 kg. I felt drained, had no power, was getting hit during sparring. I took three days off, and went to do all my blood work. They found a virus in my stomach that I got infected with during the period I was in Romania.

Was there a risk to postpone the fight?
The doctor that consulted me, suggested exactly that to S.Larouche (the trainer). I refused. I said I will box like that, since there were other factors in play. First of all I didn't want to look untrustworthy in front of the Showtime people. Then, I've already watched Librado fight, and I knew I could beat him despite my condition. Beside all the days I had lost, I also took a week off and had acupuncture treatments.

    .......

I have good friends that know this guy personally, and the story sticks! I was watching his fight against Andrade in a bar with them... before the fight we all knew it... He'll go through hell that night!
Was Andrade supposed to get that win... maybe yes, maybe no! It was a controversial decision, but given the circumstances .... well ... I'd give it to Bute! :hey

To all the Ward, Dirrell and Froch fans out there... watch out, if you're trying to use Andrade 1 as an argument to prove your boxer's supremacy ... u are in for a big surprise once reality will hit. :nut

IGNORANCE IS BLISS ... but then again u will start looking like an idiot sooner or later ... we don't want that! :nono

    Peace!

Never argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

excellent post! i don't like Bute much, however he is starting to grow on me just a little bit:good i cant dislike the guy if he's winning all his bouts..I would like to see him fight bhop at 168 and GET SOME NAME RECOGNITION IN THE STATES..I think he could beat Bernard, straight up:good Do it in Jersey or Madison Square...winner gets the super 6 winner and takes the mandatory to get it out the way...BUTE COULD BE HUGE, ESPECIALLY IF HE BEAT A BHOP... BHOP DONT HOLD A TITLE AT 168...THOUGH HE WOULD BE MOVING DOWN IN WEIGHT TO GO AFTER THE TITLE I SEE NO REASON WHY NOT AS IT WOULD GIVE HIM ANOTHER TITLE IN A DIFFERENT WEIGHT CLASS.

Thanks! ;) I love that option, even if many find it controversial. I think the fight will help Bute more than it will help B-Hop... or maybe B-hop is choosing somebody to prove to his inner self that he should STOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!!

Yea i think Bhop has no way to further his legacy other than to take a title in another weight class...even that wont do much for him though..i mean its pretty much sealed...But supposing they did fight and Bernard got the W I do think him getting that 168 lb belt BEFORE retiring could help him alot..on the other hand a loss to Bute (who seems much better than I thought) would basically make him retire...Moving up to HW is not a good idea for Bernard...

That pretty much sums it up... just that B-hop proposed 170lb... It looks like he doesn't want Bute's belt, he is curios to see how it would feel to get KOed by Bute???

    5 AA
    6 Dirrell
    7 Andrade
    8 Bika
9 Miranda... I will get slammed on this one, but green belongs under Miranda, sorry ;)

I don't have cause to doubt the veracity of his statements but that still doesn't excuse that referee's behavior. Which is not Bute's fault, but still.

Edit: Also, I wasn't aware of that and thanks for posting.
