"It would really be a pleasure to fight Pavlik again. If he wants the rematch, I will give him the rematch and this time I believe that I will knock him out. I'm very happy that he wants the fight. I really thought in the tenth round his corner would stop the fight, but Pavlik will never be the same after this beating and for that reason I predict a knockout the next time around,..If he wants to fight me again, it has to be at 160, but nothing will change. There is nothing he can do to avoid the movement and the punishment he will receive the next time. It will be exactly the same. And whether it's 160 or 168, if he fights anybody who moves he won't be able to handle it. He's too mechanical. However, he was a great champion and it will be a pleasure to fight him again."

Martinez is exactly right, and he's good at analyzing a fighter's style.

If you actually analyze the style matchup in Froch-Kessler, idk how anybody can pick Froch. Carl the clumsy is not Ward, or Calzaghe. Kessler eats guys like him for breakfast.

He's dead on, its what everyhting except for Booradly and his clones have been saying since the Hopkins fight.

Pavlik needs to go back to fighting Fattened up featherweight Mexican taxi drivers and janitors.

    Martinez is spot on.

I still think Pavlik is a very good opponent for guys who lack movement. For his power punches to land, he needs to plant his feet and have them wide apart. Guys who move well laterally will exploit this and Pavlik isn't good at cutting the ring off to stop this.

He needs to drastically improve his movement.

Am I the only one who sees Pavlik KOing Martinez next time around???????? Pavlik had trouble in the first 5 rounds but after that he had Martinez kinda figured out....if it wasnt for the cut over pavliks right eye(which blinded him for the rest of the fight) he wouldve went on to win that fight...I give Martinez alot of credit for his confidence but he couldnt KO a blinded Pavlik what makes u think he can KO a DESPERATE Pavlik

Martinez is right. Pavlik is very easy to figure out he only goes forward and throws a 1-2 and thats it

He didn't just cause a cut...He took away PAvlik's heart in the 9th round.
Pavlik also never really hurt martinez...Caught him with some flush shots, and got a KD whenever Martinez was off balance, but nothing to incredibly hard. Martinez would be a hard guy to KO because he's CONSTANTLY MOVING, and never taking full force punishment.
So, I think Pavlik should change his trainer, work on fighting guys who are slick, and later on fight Martinez.

As for Martinez actually KOing PAvlik I think he could have this fight if he'd have kept the pressure on. Plus, Pavlik was 11 pounds heavier...I bet there won't be as much difference in the next fight (martinez will be heavier, and Pavlik will be lighter cuz he needs to be quicker).

I think Pavlik can take him out too next time. He just needs to get a good trainer and work on his movement.
