(On his 12th round KO of JT) '...not to give myself too much of a pat on the back but it was nothing shy of genius' I wonder if anyone has ever been interviewing him, with Froch staring them straight in the eye giving them the usual legendary quotes, and burst out laughing...?
I don't think the fight was boring at all. At no moment in that fight did anyone know who was going to win. It went back and forth and Dirrell gave up the championship rounds.
It was an exciting fight to watch at the time, due to the reasons you pointed out above. But it certainly isn't the type of fight you'd watch back(unlike the Pascal and Taylor fights which were *******s).
I'm listening to Froch on the ropes atm, the sound quality went **** when he was talking about Calzaghe- it was like going to the park for a game of football just as it starts to **** down with rain :verysad Incidentally, Anglosaxon's question was a great one- the answer Froch gave was pretty **** to be fair. I half expected Anglo to mention Calzaghe's handspeed for some reason
I suppose. For me, I don't find a guy who's running and a guy who's chasing but can't hit him entertaining at all no matter how close the fight was.
"I'm rough and rugged" "Joe Calzaghe in strictly rigamortis" "You say to yourself 'where the **** is my bike' some bloke is over there running away with it. You gotta go get your bike, there's 4 guys well that's a fight." "I was coming off knee surgery, and the nurse comes in and says 'take this it will help you' I said I don't believe in drugs get that **** away from me" "My dad was strict....not too strict" ****ing Froch is funny as hell. I love that dude.
Froch says a lot of bizarre things, and I always get the impression that he is dead serious no matter how outrageous his comments.
I think that unless you can actually see him on TV, it's pretty safe to assume that many of the things he says are in jest. Even when he's on the telly you can sort of tell, he pulls a funny face or gives a half-smile when saying something that should be considered jocular.
I saw an interview with Froch yesterday on danish TV. He seemed very relaxed as usual. He was asked if it would be a problem to be aggressive in the ring when he was in there with a person he had a friendly feeling for. Froch answered: When the bell rings its business and im always calm in the ring...if I get agressive it all goes wrong and I loose my ability to concentrate.
'i will fight Kessler in Germany or Denmark, whatever makes most financial sense. But trust me, if i get blatantly robbed, i will beat up the ref, beat up the judges, and get banned from boxing for life!'
is that a direct qoute? i hope so! It makes me happy to see him getting some good comments for a change, i cant understand why gets so much hate on here. i understand why the purists dont like his style but if was to pick 5 current boxers to go to the pub with, he'd be one, proper dry, midlands wit.
