Yea usual suspects, Benn Eubank to Calzaghe Naz Lennox, always into it but more so from start of teens. remember a great nights boxing at the Royal Albert Hall (dont get me started on that/tosser snooty nosed locals) Danny Williams-Julius Francis, Marco Antonio Barrera pre-naz, Ricky Hatton, Takaloo on the same card. Teenage lad with anger issues was a dream night thats when it become a love rather than just watching the 'big' fights
it was the contender series for me. i started boxing myself and straight after that it was Hatton Tszyu - i was in love.
The rocky series got me started then watching naz on itv id it or me. The best entertainer in the ring britains ever produced, i honestly believe he is the best entertainer the sport has ever seen with no exception bar ali
Prince Rodney. He is a friend of my dads and won the Brit light middle title in the early 80s.I read about and watched his fights and have been a boxing fan ever since.
Excellent tough fighter...:yep When " Marvellous" Marvin Hagler was asked in an interview in a magazine a few years ago who hit you the hardest he replied..."A man from Leicester, England named Tony Sibson"...:good
my mate burnley blues dad, used to go round watching fights at his pad, great days. then we started boxing at 14 ish,i stopped, drank and shagged, blue carried on. i started again at 19,drank,shagged,boxed,wish i did at 14 like blue,he turned pro, wernt to bad either. first fight i watched:thinkmmm, god knows, loads,i remember bazza mc winning the title,me and blu were watching it in a girls kitchen while another mate was fingering her in the front roomyephappy days
i was already a boxing fan but can't remember any paricular fighter making me start boxing.had a few goes as a school boy but didn't get any fights till i was 19. john conteh and ken buchanan were my favourite fighters when i was at school. historically it has always been randolph turpin though
It is such a brilliant fight, I think its the 12th round where McGowan mounts his amazing comback and hita Rudkin with a huge uppercut, Rudkin kinda snorts his nose marches forward and hits McGowan with a left hook.
