The Diaz brothers are "B level" fighters at best. They are HORRIBLE for the "sport" of MMA! I would love to see either one of them fight the likes of GSP, BJ or Alves, they would both get ****ing destroyed. The way they act reminds me of ****ing losers in highschool. They need to grow the **** up. :deal
Nick Diaz would beat the **** out of Thiago Alves. The way they act reminds me of two warriors that aren't pussies.
Alves would beat the **** outa Diaz. His stand up is miles better and his TDD is good so it would stay standing and Diaz would lose badly.
I think what we see in the Diaz brothers is a little bit of street is all. A lot of fighters abandon it, but they quite clearly embrace it, and are proud of it. Not saying its great for the sport, it is what it is.
Did you come to that conclusion after he lost to Karo or after he lost to Diego "the nightmare" Sanchez or his loss to Joe Riggs....... or how about KJ noons, not to mention Shawn Sherk. If he's all that he shouln't be losing to these guys and say he'll beat Thiago Alves easily.
I'd love to see Sonnen handle Silva. OK, it probably won't happen, but he's certainly a live underdog with his excellent wrestling and takedowns. And usually when fighters are dicks like Sonnen comes across as, they **** me off. But his comments are so over the top I can't help but but laugh.
He's right, Diaz was out Bjj by Diego. Rewatch that fight. Beaten by Sherk, Noons beat the crap out of him. These arent even champions (cept for Noons) beating him, these are gatekeepers. I give Diaz credit, he's made enough noise to make you think that hes great. Unfortunately hes not. And yes, He'll get obliterated by Alves.
Yeah he was soundly beaten by Diego, but the Sherk, Karo, and Riggs fights could have gone either way. I don't put too much stock in the Noons fight; Diaz was drained at 160 and is a much better fighter at 170+ anyway. His stand up seems to be more effective against the bigger, slower guys too. Much like Nate, I wouldn't call Nick great, rather very good. Clearly he has the skills to be at least competitive with the best in the world at or around his weight class.
Im feeling good for Sonnen knowing how hes comming off two dominating performances over two tough guys at 185. Okami looked great tonight, the guy is very tough and hard to take down and even a WC guy like Munoz found it hard. But Sonnen was slamming Okami to the ground like nothin Im telling you guys now, Chael is looking great and he wants that belt for real.
